CSK vs GT, IPL 2026: MS Dhoni has regained full fitness but wants to avoid withdrawal to maintain balance of CSK team

MS Dhoni has regained full fitness ahead of Chennai Super Kings’ clash against Gujarat Titans, but the former skipper is unlikely to return to the XI as he is wary of destabilizing the combination that has finally started to click.

Dhoni’s comeback has been the biggest talking point for Chennai Super Kings ahead of Sunday’s match in Chepauk, especially after the 44-year-old traveled with the team for overseas fixtures in Hyderabad and Mumbai. Although he did not feature in any of the matches, reports now suggest that the veteran is fully fit and available, with his delayed return now more of a tactical decision than a fitness concern.

According to a report in The Indian Express, Dhoni has recovered from the calf injury that kept him out of the initial phase IPL 2026 and has already passed his fitness test. He has resumed full training, including wicket-keeping drills and batting against bowlers in the nets, and did not suffer any discomfort during training on Saturday.

However, despite being fit enough to make a comeback, Dhoni is reportedly reluctant to come straight back into the team csk leaguenThe Dee are unwilling to disrupt a playing combination that has finally found its rhythm after a slow start to the season.

Dhoni be careful of losing balance

Chennai appears to have turned a corner, especially with their strong performances in recent games 103 run win over Mumbai Indians at Wankhede. After a shaky start to the campaign, CSK have started to field a more stable combination, and Dhoni is believed to have informed the team management that this may not be the right time to force a change.

At this stage of the season, with the momentum finally building and the race for the play-offs becoming tight, the former captain is understood to prioritize team balance over emotions.

Play-off push shaped Dhoni’s call

CSK are fifth on the points table with six points from seven matches when they take on Gujarat Titans on Sunday. Although their campaign remains fragile, the play-off equation is still within their control.

With seven matches left, Chennai remain in the race for a top-four finish, and the recent improvement in results has strengthened the belief that they can make a serious push.

That incident has shaped Dhoni’s thinking. While his return will undoubtedly improve the atmosphere around Chepauk, the veteran player is more focused on maintaining the balance of a team that has finally started to build momentum at a crucial point in the season.

Vande Bharat Train (file photo)

New Delhi: Passengers can travel in Vande Bharat trains from Jammu Tawi station to Srinagar from next month, with the railways starting the inaugural journey between the two capitals of Jammu and Kashmir on April 30. Currently, Vande Bharat trains to Srinagar originate from Katra station. To meet the increasing passenger demand, Railways will run two pairs of 20-coach Vande Bharat trains on this route. There are two pairs of eight-coach trains currently in operation. Officials said commercial operations of trains from Jammu to Srinagar will begin within a few days of the inauguration. With this extension, passengers can complete the journey between Jammu and Srinagar in less than five hours, which is much less than the time taken by road. An official said, “This extension will eliminate the problems faced by passengers traveling to Srinagar by rail. In most of the cases, people coming from other parts of the country used to go to Katra station after reaching Jammu Tawi to catch a train to Srinagar. Now they will be able to change trains at Jammu Tawi junction itself.” Officials said the train has been designed keeping in mind the challenging terrain and extreme cold conditions in the region. The trains will use winterization technology to ensure smooth operation even in sub-zero temperatures.

After MAGA commenter says Indians are putting Americans out of jobs, Indian-American responds: ‘You don’t research anything’

Sara Gonzalez at TPUSA event

An exchange onThe controversy began when Gonzales posted a message comparing his family’s military service to the presence of Indian workers in the US tech sector. He wrote: “My grandfather received a Purple Heart award for his military service in World War II. Indians are coming in with fake credentials as software engineers and driving Americans out of jobs. There is no comparison. Scammers can’t understand that there are people who come here legally and do the right thing. Epic levels of launch. The post went viral and faced backlash, including from an NRI user named Priya, who responded by pushing for normalization and sharing data about the contributions of the Indian American community. She wrote, “Most Indian immigrants are legal. You don’t do any research except posting lies and hate. I like Hispanics, they are nice, nothing against them, I just don’t like you.”Priya also shared statistics showing economic and educational outcomes among Indian Americans, with figures showing that the median household income is approximately $100,500 and nearly 70% have at least a bachelor’s degree, compared to the US average of 28%.Gonzales responded by dismissing the criticism and doubling down on his stance. It is unrecognizable. I want my country back,” a comment that drew accusations of xenophobia, racism. His recent posts and public exchanges come against the backdrop of growing Indian migration to parts of Texas, including cities like Plano and Frisco, where the Indian population has grown significantly over the past decade. Twice orphaned: SIR snatches vote and identity from Kerala-born man from Kolkata
Benji is busy preparing dishes at his adoptive family’s eatery in Kolkata

Kolkata: Born into destitution in Kerala, raised without the memory of his parents and searching for a home after decades of wandering, 50-year-old Benjamin – “Benji” in Kolkata’s Beleghata – says the state has made him an orphan again. The Election Commission’s SIR of the voter list has struck off his name, breaking the link to his only formal identity as a voter. Intended to clean up the rolls, this practice has left cases stranded between identification and evidence, where the resident family does not meet the documentary thresholds. Orphaned since childhood, Benji lost his mother at birth and his father soon after. After spending time in an orphanage in Kerala, he ran away, joined a circus troupe, and at the age of 21 was brought to Kolkata as a shop assistant. Months later, he was taken in by Jayant Baral, a fast-food stall owner. Since 1999, Benji has been living with the Baral family, calling octogenarian Padmarani Baral his mother. This arrangement provided them with stability – and ultimately, citizenship on paper. After years of persuasion, he applied for a voter ID card and voted ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He also has a ration card. That fragile identity collapsed during SIR. In his enumeration form Benji again named Padmarani as the guardian. This time this relationship was not acceptable to the authorities. Because there was no record of the biological parents – names he could not remember – his case was stalled and his name was removed. “For the first time in my lonely life, I felt important during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” he said. “After that, losing rights hurts more.” Regulars around the stall where he has worked for decades say paperwork has trumped attendance. Benji is now trying to prove that he exists through papers, affidavits and appeals, trying to find a way back into the role.

The Madrid Open is facing criticism after Argentinian tennis player Marco Trungelliti accused the crowd of racist abuse during his first-round match against Spain’s Daniel Merida Aguilar. The 36-year-old player said fans crossed limits and claimed tournament officials did little to stop it. The incident occurred during a tense three-set match at the 2026 Madrid Open, where Truganelli entered the main draw as a lucky loser after losing in qualifying, but faced Mérida Aguilar again. While the match was highly competitive, attention immediately turned to the crowd’s behavior, which Truganelli later described as hostile and racist. He lost the first set but came back to win the second set and force a deciding set. In the final set, Merida Aguilar saved two match points, pushing the match into a tie-break and winning after two hours and 44 minutes. During that set, Trungelliti argued with the audience and complained to the supervisor about the constant booing and heckling from the home crowd.

Marco Trungelliti says Madrid Open officials did nothing after complaining of racist abuse

Marco Trungelliti shared his feelings on Instagram after the match and did not hold back. He said the crowd’s behavior was unacceptable and described it as racist from the start. He wrote, “Concludes last night’s case. Was it embarrassing? Yes. Was it racist? Yes. Disrespect from the start? Yes. Did they do anything about it? Not much. Do I care? No.”His strong words immediately caught the attention of the tennis world, especially since the Madrid Open has already faced criticism in previous years. In 2024, Fabio Fognini openly complained about the conditions in the player hotel. He posted a photo of a small single bed on Instagram and sarcastically questioned the hospitality of the tournament. In 2023, Coco Gauff criticized the incident as she and Jessica Pegula were not allowed to give speeches after finishing runner-up in the women’s doubles. That same year, Inga Swiatek also talked about scheduling problems during her solo runner-up speech. With Trungelliti’s latest accusation, questions have once again returned regarding the treatment of players at the Madrid Open.

‘India faces challenges but…’: Former Microsoft professional leaves ‘American dream’ amid visa uncertainty

'भारत के सामने चुनौतियां हैं लेकिन...': पूर्व माइक्रोसॉफ्ट प्रोफेशनल ने वीजा अनिश्चितता के बीच 'अमेरिकन ड्रीम' छोड़ा

Swapnil Sagar returns to his family in Bengaluru, India from Houston, USA

“I feel free,” says Swapnil Sagar, a former Microsoft professional who has returned to India, leaving the American dream behind after a decade in the United States, citing visa uncertainty and job instability as key reasons for his decision.Sagar, an Indian tech worker who spent nearly ten years in the US, returned to India after a long period of professional toil and repeated immigration tensions. In an interview with The American Bazaar, he spoke in detail about his journey from India to America and back again, which included study, work, setbacks and ultimately relocation.“My decision seemed illogical to many people. But I wanted to be free from a life of constant visa hassles and job insecurity. Life in India has challenges but I feel more free,” says Swapnil Sagar.Sagar’s journey began in India, where he worked at Accenture before deciding to pursue higher studies in computer science. He moved to the United States to study at the University of Illinois Chicago. “Let me start from the beginning,” Sagar says.He said: “I had a good career in India. I was working with Accenture; I was single and doing well. But I wanted to study and had a special interest in computer science, so I decided to apply for a master’s in the US. I chose UIC in Chicago for its excellent computer science courses.”He managed to work initially under F-1 status and later on STEM OPT, but his long-term plans were disrupted due to repeated visa uncertainty. He says, “The reality of the actual US visa started to set in when my H-1B application was sent in. My H-1B didn’t get taken on the first two attempts, so I used up almost all three years of my STEM OPT.”Even after finally being selected in the H-1B lottery, his situation changed again. “I was happy when for the third time my H-1B was finally picked up, but just as I was getting ready for my actual work shift in the US, my employer fired me during visa processing time. The same employer who applied for my H-1B! And my H-1B got canceled.”Despite the setbacks, he rebuilt his career, working at various companies before getting a job at Microsoft. During this period, he got married and bought a house in Houston, marking a stable phase of his life. However, that stability was short-lived. “In May 2025, Microsoft fired me among 10,000 people,” says Sagar. After the layoffs, Sagar and his wife question their future. His wife, who was on an H-4 dependent visa and unable to work, also influenced his decision. He expressed frustration over the paperwork, visa dependency, and uncertainty in the US system. He said: “I felt that America was no longer the place I had come to study. Most of my productive hours were being wasted filing various forms and documents that did not provide stability.”Eventually, the couple decided to return to India and settle in Bengaluru, where their families live. He said, “I miss our clean air and smooth journey to the destination. Also, the work culture in India can be tough, but despite this, I feel free, because my life is not governed by visas and both my wife and my parents are with us.”Sagar is now again working as a software developer in India. He says he still misses his time spent in the US, but believes the move has brought a sense of control and closeness to family, which he values more than his previous life abroad.
