Bishop Barron breaks silence on Trump’s attack on Pope Leo XIV.

Minnesota Bishop Robert Barron, a member of Trump’s Religious Freedom Commission who has faced criticism in the past for his association with the Trump administration, broke his silence on President Donald Trump’s attack on Pope Leo XIV, saying the statements were inappropriate and offensive. Trump criticized the first US Pope in a lengthy Truth Social post on Monday, accusing him of being “weak on crime” and “terrible at foreign policy”. He said he “does not want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States.” Trump said, “Leo should do his job as Pope, use common sense, stop pandering to the radical left and focus on being a great Pope, not a politician.”Following his tirade, Trump posted an illustration in which he appeared to look like Jesus healing a sick man. Pope Leo responded to the Truth Social outburst and said he has no fear of the Trump administration. “I have no intention of arguing with him,” Leo said.The US Conference of Catholic Bishops expressed dismay at Trump’s attack. The organization’s president is Archbishop Paul S. “I am disappointed that the President decided to write such derogatory words about the Holy Father,” Coakley said in a statement on social media. “Pope Leo is not his opponent; nor is the Pope a politician. He is a vicar of Christ who speaks for the truth of the gospel and for the care of souls.“Bishop Barron is considered MAGA-friendly. Recently he was criticized for not objecting to a comment during an Easter luncheon at the White House when televangelist Paula White-Cain compared Trump to Jesus Christ. Paula told the president that, like Jesus Christ, he was ‘betrayed and arrested and falsely accused’ and ‘because of his resurrection, you stood up.’ Trump standing behind him smiled and thanked him. Bishop Barron was present at this event and his silence was questioned. “It is the Pope’s prerogative to articulate the principles governing Catholic doctrine and moral life. With respect to the concrete application of those principles, people of good will can and do disagree. I would warmly recommend that serious Catholics within the Trump administration – Secretary Rubio, Vice President Vance, Ambassador Brian Burch and others – meet with Vatican officials so that a genuine dialogue can take place.” This is much better than statements made on social media,” Bishop Barron wrote Monday. Bishop Barron said, “I am deeply grateful for the many ways in which the Trump Administration has reached out to Catholics and other people of faith. It is a high honor to serve on the Religious Freedom Commission. No president in my lifetime has shown such dedication to protecting our first freedom. All that said, I think the President should apologize to the Pope.”

मुजफ्फरनगर जिले के तितावी थाना क्षेत्र में जमीन का फर्जी बैनामा कर लाखों रुपये की धोखाधड़ी करने के मामले में पुलिस ने बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए लेखपाल समेत दो आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है. वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारियों के निर्देशन में गठित टीम द्वारा योजनाबद्ध तरीके से यह कार्रवाई की गई.

पुलिस के मुताबिक, गिरफ्तार आरोपियों पर योजनाबद्ध तरीके से जमीन बेचने के नाम पर फर्जी दस्तावेज तैयार करने और पीड़ित से लाखों रुपये ऐंठने का आरोप है.

शामली निवासी पीड़िता ने लिखित शिकायत दी है।

इस मामले में शामली जिले के गांव महावतपुर निवासी नंद किशोर पुंडीर ने तितावी थाने में लिखित शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी। उसने बताया कि गांव लाखन निवासी तरूण कुमार से उसकी पहले से जान-पहचान थी, जिसने अपनी मजबूरी बताते हुए जमीन बेचने की इच्छा जताई।

चूंकि पीड़ित को जमीन की जरूरत थी, इसलिए उन्होंने प्रस्ताव स्वीकार कर लिया और संबंधित जमीन का निरीक्षण भी किया.

अकाउंटेंट ने दस्तावेज सही बताकर आश्वासन दिया।

पीड़ित के मुताबिक जमीन से संबंधित दस्तावेजों की जांच के लिए मौके पर मौजूद लेखपाल तेजस्वी से जानकारी ली गई। लेखपाल ने सभी कागजात को सही बताया और दाखिल-खारिज व कब्जा दिलाने की जिम्मेदारी लेने का आश्वासन दिया।

इसी भरोसे के आधार पर जमीन खरीदने की प्रक्रिया आगे बढ़ाई गई और तय रेट पर सौदा तय हुआ.

लाखों रुपए का भुगतान चेक और नकद भुगतान के माध्यम से किया गया

बताया गया कि जमीन का सौदा जुलाई 2022 में 4 लाख 70 हजार रुपये प्रति बीघे की दर से तय हुआ था. इसके तहत पीड़ित ने सर्किल रेट के मुताबिक 8 लाख रुपये चेक और आईएमपीएस से दिए, जबकि बाकी 10 लाख 50 हजार रुपये नकद दिए।

इसके बाद अगस्त 2022 में दूसरे बैनामे के दौरान चेक और नकदी के रूप में अतिरिक्त रकम दी गई।

दाखिल-खारिज और कब्जा को लेकर टालमटोल शुरू हो गयी

लेनदेन के बाद जब पीड़ित ने जमीन की पैमाइश और दाखिल-खारिज की प्रक्रिया पूरी करने को कहा तो आरोपी टाल-मटोल करते रहे। कुछ समय बाद लेखपाल द्वारा जमीन के पट्टे संबंधी प्रमाण पत्र भी जारी कर दिए गए, लेकिन कब्जा दिलाने की प्रक्रिया आगे नहीं बढ़ाई गई।

लगातार देरी होने से पीड़ित को पूरे मामले पर संदेह होने लगा।

जांच में सामने आया भू-माफिया गिरोह का संदेह

पीड़ित ने स्वतंत्र रूप से जानकारी जुटाई तो पता चला कि आरोपी कथित तौर पर संगठित तरीके से जमीन के नाम पर लोगों को ठगने का काम करता है। आरोप है कि फर्जी दस्तावेज तैयार कर निर्दोष लोगों को निशाना बनाया गया.

पुलिस के मुताबिक इस मामले में अन्य संभावित आरोपियों की भूमिका की भी जांच की जा रही है.

धमकी देने का भी आरोप लगाया

शिकायत में यह भी कहा गया कि जब पीड़ित ने जमीन या पैसे वापस मांगे तो आरोपियों ने उसके साथ गाली-गलौज की और जान से मारने की धमकी दी. बाद में, आरोपी कथित तौर पर अपने साथियों के साथ नई मंडी में पीड़ित के घर पहुंचा और कोई कार्रवाई करने पर गंभीर परिणाम भुगतने की चेतावनी दी।

इन घटनाओं के बाद पीड़िता ने पुलिस से सुरक्षा और न्याय की मांग की है.

पुलिस ने दोनों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर आगे की कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी है

मामले की जांच के बाद पुलिस ने आरोपी तरुण कुमार निवासी गांव लाखन और मुनीम तेजस्वी निवासी रोनीहरजीपुर को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। पुलिस अब दोनों आरोपियों के आपराधिक रिकॉर्ड और संभावित नेटवर्क की भी जांच कर रही है.

अधिकारियों का कहना है कि मामले में अन्य संबंधित लोगों की भूमिका सामने आने पर उनके खिलाफ भी कार्रवाई की जायेगी.

वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के निर्देशन में हुई कार्रवाई

पूरी कार्रवाई वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक संजय कुमार वर्मा के निर्देशन में पुलिस अधीक्षक ग्रामीण महादिक अक्षय संजय, क्षेत्राधिकारी फुगाना यतेंद्र सिंह नागर व थाना प्रभारी पवन कुमार के नेतृत्व में की गई। टीम में सब इंस्पेक्टर अजयपाल यादव, सब इंस्पेक्टर अनुभव चौधरी, कांस्टेबल नवीन और मोहन शामिल थे।

पुलिस अधिकारियों ने स्पष्ट किया है कि जमीन धोखाधड़ी के मामलों में सख्त कार्रवाई जारी रहेगी.

तितावी क्षेत्र में फर्जी बैनामे के जरिए जमीन धोखाधड़ी के इस मामले में हुई गिरफ्तारी को पुलिस की बड़ी सफलता माना जा रहा है. प्रशासन ने संकेत दिया है कि भू-माफिया गतिविधियों में शामिल किसी भी व्यक्ति को बख्शा नहीं जाएगा और पीड़ितों को न्याय दिलाने के लिए भविष्य में भी इसी तरह की कार्रवाई जारी रहेगी.
