उत्तर प्रदेश के वाराणसी से एक सनसनीखेज घटना सामने आई है, जिससे पूरे इलाके में डर और तनाव का माहौल है. यहां उदय प्रताप कॉलेज में एक छात्र को क्लासरूम में घुसकर गोली मार दी गई. घटना उस वक्त हुई जब क्लास चल रही थी. अचानक हुए इस हमले से कॉलेज परिसर में अफरा-तफरी मच गई और छात्र इधर-उधर भागने लगे. पुलिस ने मौके पर पहुंचकर स्थिति को नियंत्रित किया.

घायल छात्र की इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई
जानकारी के मुताबिक, बीए द्वितीय वर्ष के छात्र सूर्य प्रताप सिंह को निशाना बनाकर गोली मारी गई. गोली लगते ही वह लहूलुहान होकर जमीन पर गिर पड़ा। साथी छात्र और कॉलेज प्रशासन उन्हें तुरंत अस्पताल ले गए। उन्हें ट्रॉमा सेंटर में भर्ती कराया गया, जहां डॉक्टरों ने इलाज शुरू किया, लेकिन हालत गंभीर होने के कारण उनकी मौत हो गई. इस खबर से कॉलेज और आसपास के इलाके में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई.

आरोपी पिस्तौल छोड़कर मौके से भाग गया
घटना के बाद आरोपी पिस्तौल मौके पर ही छोड़कर भाग गया। पुलिस ने पिस्तौल को कब्जे में लेकर जांच शुरू कर दी है। हमलावर की पहचान और गिरफ्तारी के लिए पुलिस टीम लगातार जांच कर रही है. आसपास लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों की फुटेज भी खंगाली जा रही है ताकि आरोपियों तक पहुंचा जा सके।

कॉलेज परिसर में सुरक्षा बढ़ा दी गयी
घटना के बाद कॉलेज परिसर में तनाव का माहौल बन गया. हालात को देखते हुए मौके पर कई थानों की पुलिस फोर्स तैनात कर दी गई है. सुरक्षा के मद्देनजर पुलिस ने पूरे कॉलेज को खाली करा लिया और छात्रों को सुरक्षित स्थान पर भेज दिया गया. प्रशासन स्थिति पर नजर बनाए हुए है.

जांच जारी, कारणों की तलाश
फिलहाल पुलिस पूरे मामले की जांच कर रही है. अभी तक यह साफ नहीं हो पाया है कि हमले के पीछे क्या वजह थी. पुलिस छात्रों, शिक्षकों और आसपास के लोगों से पूछताछ कर रही है ताकि घटना के पीछे की असली वजह सामने आ सके. अधिकारियों का कहना है कि आरोपियों को जल्द ही गिरफ्तार कर लिया जाएगा.

For the system, it again highlights whether regulatory scrutiny has kept pace with the risks identified over the past year.In June 2025, TOI reported that Pankaj Mohan Sharma, an MBBS doctor, allegedly posed as a cardiologist and performed more than 50 heart procedures over eight months at the centre. Sharma misused the registration number of a legitimate cardiologist. The fraud came to light after a complaint by Sanjay Gupta, a Faridabad-based lawyer. The hospital management has removed the accused. The case before the HHRC is scheduled for April 9, and its findings are likely to determine whether the current arrangement can continue without deeper intervention.

Rwandan batsman Fanny Utagushimaninde on Friday created history by scoring the youngest T20 century. She achieved the feat against Ghana in the Nigeria Invitational Women’s T20I tournament at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval, Lagos.

At the age of just 15 years and 223 days, Utagushimaninde broke the record previously held by Uganda’s Proscovia Alako, who had scored 116 against Mali in Kigali in 2019 at the age of 16 years and 233 days. He scored 111 runs in 65 balls with the help of 17 fours.

In men’s cricket, the record for the youngest T20I century is held by France’s Gustave McConn, who scored a century against Switzerland in 2022 at the age of 18 years and 280 days.

Fanny Utagushimaninde scored a century as Rwanda Women produced a brilliant performance to beat Ghana Women by 122 runs.
