New Delhi: Before the Prime Minister, a major security threat came to light in Bengaluru on Sunday. Narendra ModiHe made the visit after two gelatin sticks were found near the main venue.According to the DIG of Central Range, Bengaluru, the explosive was discovered during a security check on Sunday morning, about 3 km away from the place where the Prime Minister was scheduled to arrive.“During investigation, two gelatin sticks were found along the footpath, about 3 km from the main event venue where PM Modi was scheduled to arrive. Further investigation is underway,” the official said. This comes a day after intelligence agencies put Delhi on high alert following inputs about a possible terror threat, following which Delhi Police and other security agencies were asked to increase surveillance at several sensitive locations.“Police have been directed to keep a strict vigil on suspicious activities, abandoned objects and vehicles parked in sensitive areas,” an officer told PTI.
