New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party launched a scathing attack on Arvind on Saturday KejrivalA day after Raghav Chadha and six other Rajya Sabha MPs quit the party. BJP Called Kejriwal as “Delhi’s Rehman dacoit” and released fresh pictures of “Sheeshmahal 2”.Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma, in a press conference, accused Kejriwal of living lavishly despite his earlier claims of simplicity.He said, “…Delhi’s Rehman Dacoit, just like the sequel of the film ‘Dhurandhar’ was released, today we are going to unveil ‘Sheesh Mahal 2’…”
Verma alleged that the original “Sheesh Mahal” in Delhi was built when the city was battling the Covid wave.He said, “…Kejriwal built Sheesh Mahal in Delhi when Delhi was battling the wave of Corona virus…” People of Delhi were asking for Covid medicine and were dying. During that time, on the orders of Kejriwal, the work of Sheesh Mahal in Delhi did not stop for a single day…The BJP leader further claimed that after the election failures in Delhi, Kejriwal shifted his political focus to Punjab, putting pressure on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
He said, “…when our ‘Dhurandhar’ Delhi voters defeated Rehman Dacoit of Delhi, he moved to Punjab, increasing the troubles of Bhagwant Mann. Of the four big government residences around Bhagwant Mann’s house, one was occupied by Kejriwal, the other by former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, the third by Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh and the third by Manish Sisodia….”Verma also targeted Kejriwal over his recent residence at 95 Lodhi Estate and accused him of abandoning his previous image of leading a humble life.He said, “…in Punjab, Bhagwant Mann is upset… he has built another Sheesh Mahal there. Today, in Delhi, he has been going to court for the last several years, demanding a bungalow. And when he got the bungalow, where he moved in yesterday, 95 Lodhi Estate. When its pictures came out, we were astounded. The man who had said he would live simply, lives luxuriously today…”The BJP also alleged that these properties were linked to funds from an alleged liquor scam case. There was no immediate reaction from Kejriwal or AAP on the allegations.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, the NMC asked institutions to remain vigilant and sensitize students against indulging in activities that could compromise the conduct of the exams.The move follows directions from the Department of Higher Education under the Education Ministry, which had flagged previous instances where medical students were found involved in activities that could dilute the sanctity of the examination process.

A bench of Justices Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan said that forcing a woman, especially a minor, to carry a full term pregnancy against her will, would cause mental, emotional and physical trauma.Rejecting the suggestion of allowing the girl to give birth and giving the newborn baby for adoption, the bench said that the choice of the pregnant woman is more important. The Supreme Court bench said, “This cannot be considered especially in cases where the child to be born is unwanted. In such a situation, directing the pregnant woman to give birth to the child against her will and hence to continue her pregnancy would negate the welfare of the pregnant woman and subject her to the yet-to-be-born child.”

The students were protesting against a school teacher accused of molestation and later detained.Police said Umar Akbar Hazam, Salman Ahmed Shala, Altaf Ahmed Shaikh, Mubashir Ahmed Gilkar, Muzammil Mushtaq Changa and Majid Firdous Dar were detained under PSA after permission from the district magistrate. He has been put in jail in Doda, Jammu.Police said all are residents of Sopore and none are students. “These miscreants were involved in an attempt to disturb peace during the recent student protests. Their activities have posed a serious threat to public order and safety,” a police statement said. More persons involved in the April 13 trouble are being identified for prosecution under PSA.Warning the public, the police asked them to “refrain from illegal activities and not fall prey to instigations by anti-social elements”.The police did not mention the specific PSA section under which the six people have been booked. The law allows detention without trial for up to six months, with an extension of six months if an accused is a threat to the security of the state. Under the PSA section on threat to public order, preventive detention is allowed for up to three months, with an extension of three months.Earlier, the PSA had allowed detention of up to two years without trial. But in 2011, during the previous tenure of Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah, an amendment reduced the period of detention for threat to state security from two years to six months and for threat to public order from one year to three months.
