Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have a relationship that goes far beyond golf and now a very personal side of it is revealed in a new book. The latest account from golf journalist Alan Shipnuck reveals that Woods would send McIlroy messages late at night, sometimes as late as 4 a.m., causing tension in the home. According to the book, those messages also upset McIlroy’s wife, Erica Stoll. This story is not just about texts. It shows how close the two golf stars have come over the years, from idols and fans to close friends and business partners. At the same time, Woods is dealing with serious personal and legal troubles that have put his career in doubt again.

Tiger Woods’ 4 a.m. messages to Rory McIlroy reveal deep friendship and personal routine

The book shares a simple but surprising moment. Rory McIlroy once said that Tiger Woods would message him at strange hours, often in the middle of the night. One message read, “Raising up. What are you doing?”McIlroy said Woods struggles with sleep and often trains late. But these late-night messages didn’t always sit well at home. She said, “Erica got really upset about it. He was texting me in the middle of the night and I was like, ‘Tiger is at the gym.'”Still, it shows how comfortable they are with each other. Woods was McIlroy’s hero growing up. McIlroy watched him as a child and later got a chance to play with him in 2010. Over time, that respect grew into a genuine friendship.McIlroy once said, “He’s an interesting character… You could spend two hours with him and see four different sides.” He also praised Woods for being thoughtful and always learning.Their bond grew even stronger after Woods’ serious car accident in 2021. McIlroy visited him during his recovery, which showed how close they had come along the way.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s partnership continues to grow while Woods faces legal troubles via TMRW Sports

Today, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy aren’t just friends, they’re also business partners. He co-founded TMRW Sports, the company behind the new indoor golf league TGL. The two have also worked together on PGA Tour matters.McIlroy has spoken openly about how much Woods means to him. He said, “He has been my idol and hero… I consider myself very fortunate to have known him more closely than some people.”However, things are not easy for Woods right now. Recently he faced legal trouble after a car accident in Florida. Police said he showed signs of impairment, although Woods told them he had not been drinking and had previously taken medication. He has been charged with driving under the influence, causing damage to property and refusing a lawful test. Woods has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear in court on May 5. Reports also say that he has traveled to Switzerland for rehabilitation.Because of this, Woods is missing this year’s Masters, where McIlroy recently completed the career Grand Slam, joining legends like Jack Nicklaus and Woods.

“Low IQ”: President criticizes Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson and other podcasters, calling them losers behind cheap publicity

Candace Owens (Image via Getty)

donald trump This time there was no retreat. In a lengthy post on his Truth Social account on Thursday, the US President openly attacked four well-known conservative voices: Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and alex jones. He called them “losers” and “stupid people” and said they only speak out against him to get attention. This came after all four publicly questioned his viewpoints and ideas, creating a clear divide within his own support base. Trump claimed that these critics do not represent his movement and are simply trying to remain relevant. In his post, Donald Trump wrote that these commentators have “low intelligence” and said they will “say anything necessary for some ‘free’ and cheap publicity.” They also pointed to his past career, claiming that he has lost influence and is now trying to garner clicks through podcasts and online content.

Donald Trump hits out at Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones in sharp public message

Donald Trump’s message was long and very direct. He didn’t just disagree, he questioned her credibility and past work. He said that Tucker Carlson was “a broken man” after leaving Fox News. He brought up an old debate with Megyn Kelly and criticized her tone. She also criticized Candace Owens for her past comments about the First Lady of France and said Alex Jones suffered financial losses following legal cases involving false claims about the Sandy Hook tragedy.Donald Trump reiterated that these voices are not part of his core support base. “MAGA agrees with me,” he said, adding that their focus is on larger national and global issues. He also claimed that these critics often try to contact him but he chooses not to respond.

Why do Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones disagree with Donald Trump?

The tension did not start suddenly. Over the past few weeks, these commentators have shared their concerns about Trump’s tone, decision-making style, and how he handles major global affairs.Tucker Carlson has questioned whether Trump is living up to his earlier promises. Megyn Kelly has raised concerns about messaging and public communications. Candace Owens has also spoken out about what she sees as inconsistencies. Alex Jones, known for strong opinions, has criticized Trump’s approach and direction. All of them, in different ways, suggested that Trump should focus more on unity and clarity rather than reacting harshly to criticism. Their comments were not identical, but the common thing was that they expected a different approach from him. Trump clearly did not agree. His response suggests that this is no longer a quiet disagreement but a public split between him and some of his former supporters.

Automatic registration for the US military draft for males between 18-25? what we know so far

18-25 के बीच के पुरुषों के लिए अमेरिकी सैन्य ड्राफ्ट के लिए स्वचालित पंजीकरण? हम अब तक क्या जानते हैं

The US is going to make changes to the Selective Service registration process this year.

The Selective Service System, the government agency that deals with the database of men called up for service in an emergency, submitted a proposed rule to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs on March 30 stating that eligible men would automatically be registered in the military draft pool. Most men between the ages of 18 and 25 are already required to register with the Selective Service but the new rule proposes automatic registration. It was mandated in December 2025 as part of the fiscal year 2026 national defense authorization. If this happens then there will be no need for self registration. The proposed rule is currently under review by the Office of Regulatory Affairs and awaits finalization.Under the new rule, men will be automatically registered within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Failure to register for the draft is considered a crime and can prevent people from receiving state-funded financial aid and employment in many states, lead to ineligibility for many federal employment opportunities and job training under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and result in a fine of up to $250,000 and up to five years in prison. Immigrants who do not register may lose their US citizenship. The US has had no draft since the Vietnam War; military service has been voluntary since 1973. But amid the Iran War, it became the most asked question whether a military draft could be possible for this war, which is now in the ceasefire phase. White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt said in March that although a draft “is not part of the current plan right now,” President Trump is “wisely keeping his options on the table.”Automated registration would cost the government millions of dollars that are spent reminding eligible people to register. Currently registration is also mandatory but the new rule says that it will be done automatically.

What doesn’t this proposed rule change mean?

  • This does not mean that work on any military draft is going on.
  • Changes to the Selective Service relate to record keeping procedures. They do not determine whether Americans will be recruited.

‘We live on stolen land’: Indian-origin woman speaks out against racism at Frisco council meeting

'हम चोरी की जमीन पर रहते हैं': भारतीय मूल की महिला ने फ्रिस्को काउंसिल की बैठक में नस्लवाद के खिलाफ बात की

An Indian-origin woman called America a stolen land and said that those who are blaming immigrants are also immigrants or descendants of immigrants.

Ankita, an Indian-origin woman, recently spoke at a city council meeting in Frisco and addressed the anti-India narrative that arises at these meetings without any reaction. The woman said that those who are blaming immigrants for all their problems are also immigrants or descendants of immigrants from Europe, because America is stolen land and it is the country’s heritage. Introducing herself as Ankita, she said, “I am here to address those hateful and racist people who feel confident and protected enough to consistently come to the mic at multiple meetings in Frisco, Plano and Irving to disparage immigrants and repeatedly target members of the Frisco community.” He said that these racist comments made in city council meetings, which can be seen across the world, are going viral and people are seeing how such speakers are enjoying impunity as there is no intervention or any consequences for the hateful comments being made targeting Indians. Ankita said, these comments do not physically harm anyone inside these meetings, but they do harm community members outside. “Why do immigrants come to this country? Well, immigrants come to America looking for a better life but instead of welcoming them, the government crushes their hopes and dreams with oppression. Their labor is exploited, they are labeled criminals or aliens, they are forcibly removed, detained, deported… and racist people blame them for their problems,” Ankita urged everyone to think about how the government is doing healthcare for the American people. How is it spending so much money on immigration instead of care or housing? “We live on stolen land and that land was stolen from the indigenous people. This is the heritage of this country. The same people who blame immigrants for their problems are immigrants or descendants of immigrants who came here from Europe. There is no place for violence and racism in Frisco. And the violent mob outside Frisco temples and mosques needs to be charged and prosecuted,” Ankita said. Another Indian speaker, Pranavi Chhatrathi, protested at how Indian-American children were attacked as social media commentators pointed out that the Boy Scouts attending previous city council meetings were all Indian.Frisco City Council meetings have become controversial as several speakers in the past have attacked Frisco’s Indian community and called for an ‘Indian takeover’ of the city.

Under police investigation for staying at the same station for more than 3 years
According to the policy, transfers are to be made every year between April 15 and June 15.

Bhubaneswar: Police officers who have overstayed at their postings in violation of the government’s transfer policy are now under investigation. Odisha Police Headquarters has directed all district superintendents of police (SP) and deputy commissioners of police (DCP) in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to ensure that officers serving at the same station for more than three years are transferred in line with state guidelines.A senior police officer said, “We have advised the heads of police districts and establishments to start identifying such officers and transfer them immediately as per the government’s policy. They have been advised to complete the process as soon as possible.”According to a circular issued by IGP (Personnel) S Praveen Kumar on Tuesday, no officer should be posted in the same district for more than six consecutive years, and no officer should be posted at the same station for more than three consecutive years. The instructions reiterate the policy of the state government. “Generally, a government servant can be transferred after serving a period of three years at one place,” the circular said.As per the policy, transfers are to be made annually between April 15 and June 15. “District transfer boards should be convened by April 20, proposals for inter-district transfers should be submitted to range offices by April 25. Range transfer boards should meet by April 30, while proposals requiring headquarters-level approval should reach the state police headquarters by May 10,” the letter said. The instructions emphasize that SPs and DCPs should conduct a thorough review to identify those personnel who have completed their tenure and initiate transfers within or outside the district. Officials have been directed to strictly follow the guidelines without any deviation.“The policy is clear, and it aims to ensure fairness, efficiency and accountability in policing,” said a senior headquarters official. “Transfers are routine, but this time the instructions are strict and uniform across all districts,” another official said. Some former police personnel have cautioned that posting at one place for a long time could lead to corruption and nepotism. Mumbai: 96-year-old CD Gopinath passed away in Chennai on Thursday. Chingleput Doraikannu (CD) Gopinath, a resident of Chennai (formerly Madras), who played eight Tests between 1951–60, was previously India’s oldest living cricketer. Gopinath was the last player to survive India’s first Test victory over England at Madras in 1952.Following his demise, former India, Mumbai and Maharashtra wicketkeeper-batsman Chandu Patankar, aged 95 years and 136 days, is now the oldest living Indian Test cricketer.

Patankar played one Test for India against New Zealand in 1955. “Yes, someone gave me the sad news of Gopinath’s demise today. A friend told me that I am now the oldest living Indian Test cricketer,” Patankar told TOI. Asked how he maintained himself in the 90s, Patankar said, “It’s God’s grace. I don’t make any extra efforts.” After his retirement, Patankar served as the Secretary of the Cricket Club of India for many years. A wicketkeeper and lower-order batsman in his time, Patankar played one Test, the New Year Test, against New Zealand at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in December 1955. He scored 13 and 1 unbeaten runs in that match. He took three catches and also made one stumping in the first innings. However, he missed a tough skier and was dropped from the playing eleven for the fifth Test played at the Madras Corporation Stadium.Patankar, a resident of Parel, was born in Pen in Raigarh district of Maharashtra. He attended Bombay University and obtained an M.Sc. He played first-class cricket for Bombay from 1950 to 1966, then moved to Maharashtra in his last season (1966–67). For the fourth game of Harry Cave’s five-match Test series against New Zealand in 1955–56, Patankar replaced his Bombay wicket-keeping colleague Naren Tamhane, who was injured, but lost his place when Tamhane replaced him for the final game of the series. Patankar thus joins the list of 51 cricketers, including six wicketkeepers, who have played just one Test for India.People close to Patankar describe him as a “good person”. In October 2022, Patankar decided to go to the Wankhede Stadium complex and vote in the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) elections. He also participated in the 50th anniversary celebrations of Wankhede Stadium in January 2025.

Bitcoin in trouble: Iran’s Hormuz Haftar stirs markets

Bitcoin in trouble: Iran's Hormuz Haftar stirs markets

TOI correspondent from Washington: Iran moved to re-assert control over the Strait of Hormuz just hours after Israel’s continued strikes in Lebanon, straining shipping movements just 48 hours before the talks are set to begin in Islamabad. Tehran’s actions – ranging from increased inspections to completely blocking tankers – have contradicted US claims that the strait is open and safe. The White House has dismissed reports of a renewed closure by Iran as exaggerated and stressed that any attempt to block the waterway would be “completely unacceptable.” Yet on land – or rather, at sea – the situation looks much worse. But shipping companies report delays, diversions and increased scrutiny by Iranian authorities, suggesting that control over the strait is, at the very least, disputed. Physical obstruction is also not necessary; Due to fears that Iran may have mined the strait, insurance companies are not covering the ships, resulting in the ships not sailing at all. Adding to the uncertainty is a shocking report from the Financial Times that Iran intends to impose tolls payable in cryptocurrencies on ships passing through the strait. According to Iranian industry representatives, to avoid traceability under sanctions tankers must declare cargo via email, undergo appraisal, and then be paid about $1 per barrel in a digital currency such as Bitcoin – within seconds. The Iranian proposal outlines Tehran’s broader strategy: leveraging its geographical advantage during the ceasefire while testing new mechanisms to circumvent Western financial sanctions. The fact that President Trump has suggested that the US could partner with Iran in exacting such a toll, thereby legitimizing the shelling, has also worried Americans. This dispute over maritime control is just one aspect of a much larger gap between the US 15-point framework and Iran’s 10-point proposal, with differences on almost every important issue: nuclear enrichment limits, regional proxy activity, sanctions relief and control of strategic waterways. While the ceasefire has provided a temporary pause in direct hostilities, both sides appear to be using the hiatus to regroup and consolidate their positions. In fact, President Trump himself acknowledged this in a particularly aggressive message on social media, warning that U.S. military forces would stand ready to take renewed action if Iran fails to abide by the “real deal.”“If for some reason it is not [complied with],” he wrote with cowboy swagger, “Then the shootin’ starts, bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone’s ever seen before.” He said, with a mixture of courage and ambiguity, that the American army “is moving forward and resting, in fact, waiting for its next victory.”Such rhetoric has done little to reassure skeptics – neither abroad nor at home. In Washington, criticism is growing that the administration, despite inflicting significant military damage on Iran, has inadvertently given up strategic and diplomatic ground. Even within Trump’s political base, voices are emerging that question the coherence of the approach. The so-called “Taco Tuesday” satire – short for “Trump Always Chickens Out” – has gained popularity among critics who view the ceasefire as an escalation rather than a well-intentioned pause.
