Sources said the Center has asked oil marketing companies (OMCs) to explore the feasibility of providing 10 kg or even 7 kg in each cylinder.Officials said the move was being considered in view of concerns over the movement of fuel tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. “Some options are being discussed to ensure equitable distribution, prevent shortages and reduce theft. Reducing LPG in domestic cylinders is one of them,” said an OMC source.However, consumers are unhappy. “In our house, a cylinder lasts for 15 days. A 10 kg or 7 kg cylinder will finish in 7 to 9 days. You cannot book the cylinder before 25 days (from the date of delivery of the previous cylinder).
