Bhubaneswar: An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Bhubaneswar was diverted to Raipur on Thursday evening due to bad weather, airline officials said.Flight number 6E 463, which was scheduled to land at Biju Patnaik International Airport around 7.30 pm, could not reach the capital due to heavy rain coupled with strong winds disrupting flight operations.Confirming the diversion, IndiGo said that the step has been taken in the interest of passenger safety. “We regret the inconvenience caused. Please note that the flight was diverted to Raipur due to inclement weather at Bhubaneswar, which is beyond our control. For any assistance, passengers may contact our airport team,” the airline said while responding to a flyer posted on X.Earlier, passenger Manjeet Mohanty raised the issue, telling X that the Mumbai-Bhubaneswar flight was diverted to Raipur and passengers were stranded without any update. “No update yet. Request confirmation as to when we can safely fly back to Bhubaneswar,” he wrote.
