New Delhi: An empty coach of the Hyderabad-Jaipur special train caught fire at Nampally railway station in Hyderabad on Friday evening, South Central Railways said. It said the incident occurred when the rake was being placed on the platform before its scheduled departure. According to officials, the fire was noticed at 6:45 pm, about an hour before the scheduled departure of the train at 7:50 pm. Since there were no passengers inside the affected coach at the time of the incident, no injuries were reported. Railway staff and emergency response teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control within a short time. The affected coaches were later separated with rakes to prevent the fire from spreading further. Officials are assessing the extent of the damage and investigating the cause of the fire. There were no immediate reports of any major disruption in train operations at the station. At the time of the incident, the Hyderabad-Jaipur special train was being prepared for departure.
