Prayagraj: : On Monday, two unidentified bike-borne assailants shot a former village head near his house in Alamchand village of Sandipanghat police station area of Kaushambi.The incident happened when Manoj Kumar (50) Went out for a walk in the morning.On receiving the information, Kaushambi SP and senior police officers including forensic experts reached the spot and conducted investigation. The seriously injured former village head was admitted to SRN Hospital in Prayagraj.A senior official said the motive behind the attack was not yet known. Three police teams have been formed to solve the case. Police are scanning CCTV footage to identify the attackers and acting on some clues.Kumar was the head of Alamchand village from 2010 to 2015. Police are investigating from all angles including old political rivalries, if any. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections.
