Kolkata: On the occasion of Bengali New Year, the Chief Minister of West Bengal… Mamata Banerjee Wished people a ‘Poila Boishakh’ and urged voters to give a befitting reply to the efforts of “landlords of Delhi” to snatch away people’s voting rights.In a post on X, he hoped that the Bengali New Year would make people’s lives “free of vices”. He also highlighted the cultural heritage of Bengal and said the state stands as a symbol of communal harmony.The outgoing chief minister alleged that some “malicious forces” were attempting to spoil this harmony, and accused “landlords of Delhi” of trying to usurp people’s voting rights.“Remember, we must give a befitting reply to them in a democratic manner,” Banerjee said in an ex-post.Calling for unity, he urged people to break down the “walls of narrow-mindedness” and resolve to remain united against divisive and authoritarian forces.He also appealed to the voters to uphold their democratic rights by voting in the upcoming assembly elections.
