New Delhi: Education Ministry sources have confirmed that confidential question paper packets for the June 21 NEETUG 2026 re-exam will be airlifted by the Indian Air Force to 18 locations across the country before being taken under security cover to the exam centres, while paper setters, moderators and translators have been kept under strict isolation at a secure undisclosed location to prevent any possibility of leaks.These measures are part of one of the most extensive security drives undertaken for a national entrance exam, after the NEET-UG exam held on May 3 was canceled amid paper leak allegations.The examination was canceled on May 12 and the case was later handed over to the CBI for investigation. Since then, several central agencies have been involved in putting in place a security framework aimed at ensuring leak-free re-examination.According to government sources, the Indian Air Force will deploy a combination of transport aircraft and Mi-17 helicopters, especially in areas where rapid movement of question papers is considered critical. Under tight security arrangements, the papers will be delivered to the examination centers from designated distribution points.Security agencies, civil authorities and defense establishments have been tasked with maintaining close coordination throughout the operation. Military and security personnel have also been asked to remain ready to provide additional support as required during the conduct of the examination.Along with this, the authorities have also tightened control over the process of preparing question papers.Sources said all the experts involved in setting, moderating and translating the exam papers were moved to a secure facility and kept in a state of lockdown until the exams are completed.
