Lucknow: The UP government on Thursday approved a hike in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees, making it 60% of the basic pay from January 1, 2026.According to a government order issued by the Finance Department, the revised DA rates have been implemented in line with the Centre’s decision for its employees. The order applies to regular state employees, aided educational and technical institution employees, urban local body employees, work-charged employees and personnel drawing pay under the UGC pay scale.The dues for the period from January 1 to April 30 will be credited to the General Provident Fund (GPF) account of the employees. In such cases the employees are covered under national pension systemA part of the dues will be deposited in Tier-I pension accounts, while the remaining amount will be deposited in the Provident Fund or provided through National Savings Certificate as per rules.
