New Delhi: Delhi Capitals put a break on their hat-trick of defeats in IPL 2026 by achieving their highest successful chase in IPL history against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday. DC achieved two points while chasing a record 226 runs in just 19.1 overs.The win lifted DC to sixth place in the IPL 2026 points table with 8 points from nine matches, surpassing Chennai Super Kings, who play Mumbai Indians at home on Saturday.RR’s erratic campaign continued as they suffered their fourth defeat in 10 matches. Despite the loss, RR remained fourth in the standings, but their net run rate (NRR) dropped to +0.510.Punjab Kings remain on top with 13 points from 8 matches, followed by defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore in second place with 12 points from nine matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad is at the third position with a better NRR than RR, as all three teams -RCB, SRH and RR have 12 points each.Gujarat Titans are placed fifth with 10 points and are moving towards the playoff places, consolidating their mid-table position. GT has reduced the gap with fourth-placed RR to just two points and is two points ahead of DC.The rest of the table remains unchanged. CSK are in seventh place with six points, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders in eighth place with five points. Whereas, Mumbai Indians are in ninth place with four points, just ahead of bottom-placed Lucknow Super Giants on NRR.With the league stage entering the decisive phase, the race for the playoffs is heating up. DC kept themselves in the competition with a crucial win against RR on Friday.
