‘Just shameful’: RCB star reveals Virat Kohli was secretly photographed during private meeting Cricket News
England batsman Jordan Cox has expressed disappointment at the lack of privacy Virat KohliRevealing that the former India captain was secretly photographed during a quiet meeting in London. Cox, who met his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate and mentor ahead of his England Test debut at The Oval last month, said neither of them realized they had been photographed until photos of the meeting surfaced online hours later.According to Cox, the couple enjoyed a peaceful meeting in a café where hundreds of people were walking by without interruption. However, the privacy he believed in was short-lived.
‘People are following him without knowing him’
“The thing that’s upsetting to him is that people are following him without him even knowing. Hundreds of people passed us, no one stopped, no one did anything. But then about two hours later he’s texting me, ‘Have you seen all these pictures?’ I was like, ‘What the fuck?'” Cox told The Guardian. The England batsman admitted that he felt sorry for Kohli, adding that the Indian superstar rarely gets the opportunity to enjoy a normal life away from the cricket field. He added, “It’s a shame how many people want a part of him. He just wants to go under the radar, have fun, and live a normal life. Unfortunately, that’s not always possible.”
‘He always wants to help others’
While Kohli is known for his aggression on the field, Cox said he is a completely different person behind the scenes. The young batsman praised Kohli for the time he put in helping him during his stint at Royal Challengers Bangalore and described the Indian great as one of the most selfless senior players he has faced.Cox concluded, “The thing that stood out to me most during the IPL was how much time he gave me as a player and that’s a lot of the time he usually gives to someone who has achieved so much. Some people focus on their own game, but he’s someone who always wants to help others before helping himself. That’s very rare.”
Virat will return for the ODI series against England
Virat Kohli is set to make a comeback to international cricket when India begin a three-match ODI series against England on July 14, following the conclusion of the ongoing T20I series. However, before turning the focus to the ODI series, India have one last opportunity to end a disappointing T20I campaign on a positive note. Shreyas Iyer’s side are trailing 3-0 in the five-match series after suffering consecutive defeats and will be aiming to avoid a series whitewash in the fifth and final T20I in Southampton.England, on the other hand, have a lot to play for despite having already won the series. Harry Brook’s team is trying to win the series 4-0 and with a win in the final match, it can overtake India and become the number 1 T20 team in the ICC rankings.
