Maths aspirants face trouble, long questions give tough time

Lucknow: Mathematics emerged as the toughest section in the Uttar Pradesh Police constable recruitment exam on Monday, with candidates from all centers in the city reporting that the long, calculation-heavy questions made time management difficult.Candidates said the paper was largely balanced, but mathematics proved decisive. Many expected General Studies to present a greater challenge.Rohit SharmaA candidate from Gwalior said that the language section was straightforward, but mathematics slowed them down. He said, “Most of the language questions were solved quickly, but mathematics took a lot of time. The questions were not difficult, but the calculations were lengthy.”Priya Yadav, traveling from Delhi, said: “The paper was overall moderate, but mathematics took longer than expected. There were also some analytical questions in General Studies. Due to time constraints I had to leave out some questions.”Mukesh Meena from Rajasthan said that both speed and accuracy were tested in this section.Abhishek Singh from Prayagraj said that mathematics affected the overall performance. “General Studies was moderate, but Mathematics was the major section. Many problems involved multiple steps, which affected time management,” he said.Shivani Verma of Lucknow described the paper as more difficult than expected. “The language section was easy, but parts of Mathematics and General Studies required deeper understanding. The paper was a little tougher than anticipated,” he said.
