New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party, the largest party with 89 MLAs in the 243-member Assembly, has elected Samrat Choudhary as the leader of its legislative party. After this, Nitish Kumar resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar after the recommendation to dissolve his cabinet.Kumar, Bihar’s longest-serving chief minister, informed his cabinet colleagues of the decision to dissolve the council of ministers, which is a constitutional requirement, before formally submitting his resignation to the governor.The 202-member National Democratic Alliance includes 85 MLAs from the Janata Dal (United), along with 19 from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and five from the Hindustani Awam Morcha led by Union ministers Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi.The alliance also includes five MLAs of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, whose president is Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha.
