‘Raja Shivaji’ box office collection day 5: Riteish Deshmukh directed Marathi film crosses Rs 30 crore mark; Earning Rs 50 crore worldwide.

Marathi film, which tells the story of a Marathi warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharajhas officially crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the worldwide box office.According to a report by Sacnilk, this film, released in Marathi and Hindi, is doing well at the box office. The film, which is still in its first week, managed to make a mark despite a notable slowdown on weekdays.On the fifth day (Tuesday), the film saw a decline in its collections, earning an estimated Rs 3.35 crore in Marathi from around 1,851 shows. The day’s gross collections in Marathi stood at around Rs 3.95 crore, which is 20.4% lower than Monday’s figures.Till now, the film has earned a total net collection of Rs 44 crore from 28,868 shows, with the Marathi version contributing a significant amount of Rs 30.5 crore. Despite being comparatively slow, the Hindi version is gaining momentum through positive word-of-mouth response and great audience response.The film’s total gross in India currently stands at Rs 52.68 crore, making it one of the most successful Marathi film releases of all time. According to the listing, the film has entered the top 5 list of highest-grossing Marathi films of all time.The film has come amid demands to cross the Rs 50 crore mark. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve has demanded that the film be made tax-free in Maharashtra so that a larger audience can watch the film. Danve, in a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said the film popularizes the work of Shivaji Maharaj and should be declared tax-free, which would make tickets cheaper.The film was released in theaters on May 1, starring a cast of Sanjay DuttAbhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Bhagyashree and Genelia Deshmukh play the lead roles. It also stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Fardeen Khan, Jeetendra Joshi and Amol Gupte.
