New Delhi: A shocking video has emerged from Ghaziabad, UP, where a rape accused was given a warm welcome by his supporters after he got bail. Video from the scene shows supporters lifting him on their shoulders, chanting slogans and leading him in a victory parade-like procession, complete with hand-shaking, cheering and smiling crowds.Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Yogi Adityanath government in UP, calling it the real character of the ‘unrighteous BJP’.“Nothing could be more condemnable than the way a ‘rape accused’ senior officer of the same brigade – recently praised by the state’s Chief Minister – has been showered with petals and garlands after getting bail, he said in a post on X.He said, “It seems that the Honorable is ousting his staunch supporters to contest the next elections independently. Come tomorrow, this rape accused released on bail will be seen raising slogans in support of ‘women’s reservation’.”
