Why didn't Erica Kirk attend JD Vance's Turning Point USA event? Source says it was more than just 'security concerns'

Questions are rising over why Erica Kirk pulled out of a high-profile Turning Point USA event where she was to appear with US Vice President JD Vance, with sources cited by the Daily Mail revealing that the decision was due to more than just security concerns. The 37-year-old widow was scheduled to interview Vance at an event organized by her late husband’s conservative group at the University of Georgia on Tuesday. However, she failed to attend, with organizers citing “serious threats” to her safety.Insiders said the explanation tells only part of the story. Erica Kirk is struggling with increased public scrutiny and online criticism in the months following the murder of her husband Charlie Kirk last year, according to a close confidant. The source said, “She knows how she’s coming across. She’s not stupid… She’s seen the comments online. She gets it. It hurts.”The reaction intensified after a recent viral video by comedian Drusky mocked Kirk’s public appearances after her husband’s murder, using exaggerated expressions, makeup, and fake tears. The insider said, “The Drusky video showed her what people think about her. She’s really hurt that people feel that way about her, that they’re making fun of her.”He said that his decision to withdraw from the program was influenced by several factors. “She withdrew from the TPUSA program for a variety of reasons, I don’t think it was just safety concerns,” the source said.“If there were security concerns, the vice president would not have gone.”There were also rumors that low ticket sales may have been the reason, a claim made by commentator Candace Owens. However, the insider said that was not the only reason.“It wasn’t even just ticket sales. It was a mental exhaustion like, ‘Nothing I do will be right, people will make fun,’ so she canceled,” he said.Erica has remained in the public eye since the death of her husband, who was killed by a sniper during an event at Utah Valley University in September. Soon after, he gained attention for publicly forgiving his alleged attacker. Some praised her resilience, but others questioned whether her public appearances felt too soon or were performative given that her husband had died just days earlier. .“She says her face was courageous and that’s why she was doing what she was doing,” the insider said.“I believe it was the evil eye. Everyone told him it was the evil eye, but he did it anyway.”“I know she’s mourning Charlie, we’re all mourning, but she has a weird way of showing it.”“Do I think she’s grieving enough? It’s not my job to say.”“But do I think she’s being treated badly? Yes.”“It’s very obvious and she’s finally starting to see how weird it all sounds. This is a good thing.”Her relationship with Vance has drawn attention before. At an event in October, a month after her husband’s death, the two embraced on stage for a long time as she told the audience: “No one can replace my husband, but I see some similarities to my husband in Vice President J.D. Vance.” The moment went viral and sparked debate online.

After 20 years, toxic waste to go from Concolim Ind'L estate, says CM

Margao: CM Pramod Sawant on Friday said the lifting of hazardous waste lying at Cuncolim Industrial Estate for the last two decades will begin from May 1, adding Rs 13 crore will be spent on the exercise.More than 50,000 metric tonnes of hazardous waste at Cuncolim Estate is legacy material of Sunrise Zinc Limited, which ceased operations in 2007 following High Court directions. Despite provisions being made in the budget for 2025-26, the waste disposal plan was awaiting state approval.“This is a legacy waste that I am cleaning, just as I did with the legacy municipal solid waste in Sonsoddo in Margao,” Sawant said at a public meeting in Cuncolim after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of several development projects in the constituency.Opposition leader and Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao was also present on the occasion. The CM said that no red category industry will be allowed to be set up in Cuncolim Industrial Estate. The CM also asked people not to pack fish waste in plastic bags and throw it in the open. “You can rid yourself of the stench, but it is an unpleasant sight for passersby. If we don’t correct ourselves now, we won’t be able to preserve the beauty of Goa for future generations,” he said.Sawant laid the foundation stone of a 15-bed urban primary health center at Cuncolim, which he said would be completed within one and a half years and would be equipped with all necessary facilities. Quote of the Day by Queen Elizabeth II:
Quote of the Day by Queen Elizabeth II (Image source: Wikipedia)

People often talk about quick success and big accomplishments, but the idea of making slow and steady progress can sometimes get lost. But small, steady efforts over time, not huge breakthroughs, have brought about some of the most important and lasting changes in life, society, and history. Queen Elizabeth II said, “It is worth remembering that it is often small steps, not giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change.” One of the longest-reigning kings and queens in modern history was Queen Elizabeth II. He witnessed changes in politics, society and the world over the decades. Her words show that she really understands how progress works at the national level and in everyday life. This quote still rings true because it talks about a truth that applies to everyone from individuals to groups and businesses.

Quote of the Day by Queen Elizabeth II

“It is worth remembering that it is often small steps, not giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change.”

Meaning of Queen Elizabeth II’s statement in simple words

The quote implies that big, dramatic actions do not always lead to lasting change. But most of the time, it comes from small, steady work done over time. When people think about change or success, they often think of big events or bold decisions. But in real life, doing the same little things over and over again can have many different results. It’s important to take small steps to progress in any area of life, whether it’s building a habit or getting better at something. The words of Queen Elizabeth II remind us that it is often better to make small, steady changes than big, sudden changes. Things that seem small now can have a big and long-lasting impact over time.

Reflection of a lifetime’s experience

Queen Elizabeth II was Britain’s head of state for more than 70 years. Politics, technology and society all changed greatly during his tenure. He had to be patient, stick to his plans and think long term. Their job required stability and continuity over decades, which is different from short-term leadership roles. She knows that things take time to get better, which shows that she has been through this before. His method did not focus on sudden changes; Instead, it often emphasizes steady growth and making careful choices. This is similar to the quote that says getting results quickly is not as important as working hard.

Why do small steps lead to lasting change?

There are many real-life examples that show how small steps can make a big difference. Simply put, it’s easier to keep doing small tasks over time. Big, sudden changes can be hard to deal with, but small changes can become part of your daily life. When you learn something new, you usually start with the easy things. Over time, these little things add up to greater knowledge and skills. Similarly, people usually reach their long-term goals by making steady progress over time rather than taking one big step forward. This idea also works for larger groups like societies and businesses. Changes in policies, reforms, and new ideas often start out minor and expand to have a more significant impact over time.

The role of patience and persistence

The quote also shows how important it is to be patient. It takes time to see the impact of small steps. But being persistent ensures that progress continues to be made, even if it feels slow.If people don’t see results right away, they may feel discouraged in many situations. The quote is a reminder that real change can take a long time. By taking small steps repeatedly, people and groups can achieve long-lasting results. This method also makes it less likely that you will fail because taking small steps allows you to make changes and learn along the way.

Everyday examples that illustrate this idea

You can use the message of the quotes in many parts of your life. For example, getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising regularly can help you stay healthy. These things may seem small, but they will help you stay healthy over time.School is the place where you learn in stages. Each short lesson helps students learn more and more. Similarly, in the workplace, advancement in your career usually comes from trying very hard and always getting better.Even small things like talking, trusting and caring for each other can make relationships stronger. These examples from everyday life show how small steps can make big, long-lasting changes.

A message relevant in today’s fast-paced world

It’s easy to forget how important small steps can be in a world where people talk a lot about quick results and instant success. A lot of social media and modern communication is about completing tasks quickly, which can lead to people having very high expectations. The quote from Queen Elizabeth II is apt. It asks people to value slow progress more than quick results. This method is very important for things that require long-term commitment, such as education, career development, and personal growth. This quote also supports the idea of permanent change. If things move slowly, they are more likely to stay that way.

Other famous quotes from Queen Elizabeth II

  • “Suffering is the price we pay for love.”
  • “It has always been easy to hate and destroy. It is much more difficult to build and cherish.”
  • “We all need to strike the right balance between action and reflection.”
  • “The lessons from the peace process are clear: whatever life throws at us, our individual responses will be even stronger for working together and sharing the load.”

broad impact of quotes

The notion that incremental actions result in lasting change extends beyond personal development. It also has a big impact on big problems like social development, protecting the environment and improving the economy. For example, tackling environmental problems often requires small, routine actions on the part of people, communities and governments. These efforts yield big results over time. Also, social change often starts with small projects that grow into larger movements. These examples show that the idea in the quote works for both individuals and groups.

Haptnar (Anantnag): His scorched hands and bullet-riddled body told the story of courage and sacrifice. Syed Adil Hussain Shah, the pony-tailed man who held the barrel of a terrorist’s rifle to save tourists during the horrific massacre at Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam last year, came to symbolize the spirit of Kashmir and the soul of India in his last act of selflessness.Adil was the sole breadwinner of his family when he was murdered on April 22, 2025. Over the past year, her family has gone through a profound and complex transformation – from a life defined by daily uncertainty and frugality to relative financial stability, even as they grapple with irreparable loss.Once living in a 40-year-old fragile house made of mud and wood, they are looking forward to moving into a newly constructed single-storey house adjacent to the old structure. The house, which cost around Rs 10 to 12 lakh, was financed by the party of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde. The family says Shinde is expected to visit them on the first anniversary of the attack, after which they plan to shift to a new residence.Additionally, the family has received financial assistance of around Rs 20 lakh from government sources and other organisations. Even Adil’s widow Nazim has been given a permanent job in the fisheries department, while her brother Najakat has got a daily wage job in the Waqf Board. Another brother, Naushad, who once drove a taxi, now owns a cab worth around Rs 12 lakh. His father Syed Haider Shah said, “We have no shortage of money now, but we miss Adil.” “My son used to earn around Rs 300-600 a day and we were happy with it,” he said. “They sacrificed their lives for humanity. When tourists came to Pahalgam, they trusted us and we tried to save them,” he said.Sitting outside the newly constructed house, Haider says he feels proud when people from across the country come and acknowledge his son’s courage. “He lost his life, but he made our lives more secure,” he said.Haider says that he knows that there are different opinions about his son in Kashmir and beyond. Haider, who is fluent in Pahari, Kashmiri and Urdu, says people from across the country keep coming to meet the family to express their condolences. “The people of the valley value what he did by giving his life to save the tourists and ensure their safety,” he says. “But people outside Jammu and Kashmir perhaps understand his sacrifice more deeply. They see that he did not think on religious lines and gave his life for others. He told that there were many people present in Baisaran that day who managed to escape. He says, “My son could have also saved himself. But he did not do so. His conscience did not allow it and I am proud of it.”Memories become fresh. He says, “His fingers were injured as he tried to snatch the rifle. Then he was shot in the back.”“That day was the heaviest day of our lives. It was the day of doomsday,” he says almost in a whisper. “When I heard there was firing in Baisaran, I started calling him. He didn’t respond. Since there was no network there, I thought he would respond. I kept calling till about 4 or 4.30 p.m. At 6 p.m., when there was no response, I went to Ashmukam police station and told them my son was missing. They asked me to go home.”He becomes silent for a while; Then, with a deep breath he says: “When I reached home, I was informed by the police that my son’s body was in Pahalgam Hospital…” Haider stops there, his eyes filling with tears. When the family reached Srinagar hospital to collect Adil’s body, a female tourist, who had lost a member of her family, said that Adil had tried his best to save them by snatching the gun from the terrorists. Medical reports showed that he had been shot at close range – there was a hole in his neck, there were bullet holes in his chest and part of one of his shoulders was mangled by a bullet.
