Chennai: Outgoing CM MK Stalin told TOI on Wednesday that the DMK will wait for TVK chief C Joseph Vijay to form the government and will wait for six months without any trouble.Hinting that the DMK does not want any constitutional crisis or second elections anytime soon, Stalin said he hoped the new government would continue the schemes started by his government, as well as fulfill the promises made by the TVK in its election manifesto.

When asked what topped his priority list, he said, “The new government should continue the free breakfast scheme for school children.” “And ‘Kalaignar Magalir Urimaai Thogai’ (monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 to female heads of household).” When told that Vijay had promised to give Rs 2,500 to the women, Stalin said that it would be difficult to keep that promise. “Give them at least Rs 1,000 like we did.”The DMK president said his government has fulfilled 90% of the promises made in the party’s 2021 manifesto, such as scrapping of NEET, which could not be done due to the Centre’s control. “Even in this election, we promised only things that we could deliver.
