Vinay Pathak celebrates Rajat Kapoor’s directorial skills in ‘Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa’.

Rajat Kapoor. ‘Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa’ is directed by Rajat Kapoor, with whom Vinay Pathak shares a long history of collaboration. Vinay said that Rajat allows his actors to explore and even fail because he understands what kind of stimulation actors need as he is an actor himself.Vinay told IANS, “I think, due to the fact that he is an actor himself, he understands what hard work does, and that makes the job of actors a lot easier. He allows actors to play, explore and even fail. You know, he is always with you. And I think it’s a great safety net when you have a director like that, someone who allows you to fly knowing that if you fall, he’ll be around and, you know, he’s not going to let you get injured when you’re falling. So this is a great consolation. It’s a great freedom for any actor to immerse himself in that, and I think that’s one of his greatest strengths”.He also talked about the balance of humor and vulnerability in his character, as he said, “Honestly, any good work requires effort, no matter what type it is. But it’s not that difficult if you have a strong script and a good director. Whether it’s theatre, stage or films, I believe that a well-written story already has the potential to be told well.”Meanwhile, ‘Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa’ is set during an intimate outdoor celebration among friends and family, what starts as spontaneous banter, free-flowing drinks and games that soon turns into discomfort.
