New Delhi: Several Aam Aadmi Party workers protested outside the residence of Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta in Ludhiana on Saturday.According to the video, party workers wrote several slogans, including captions like ‘traitor’ in Punjabi, on the walls of Gupta’s residence using spray paint cans to express their anger after Gupta joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.Party workers even burnt his effigy to show their frustration. comes after this Raghav ChadhaRajinder Gupta merges with AAP along with two-thirds of AAP MPs BJP On Friday.The development is a major political blow to the Aam Aadmi Party, with Raghav Chadha leading to a split after weeks of rising tensions with the party leadership. Announcing his exit, Chadha said that the party had ‘strayed from its founding principles’ and claimed that he did not want to ‘be a part of their sins’, describing himself as ‘the right man in the wrong party’.Chadha also said that more than two-thirds of AAP MPs supported the move and seven MPs signed documents to formalize the merger with the BJP under constitutional provisions.The rift had been going on for several days, especially after Chadha was removed from the post of deputy leader of the party. Senior AAP leaders had accused him of deviating from the party line, indulging in ‘soft PR’ and avoiding direct attacks on the BJP in Parliament.Responding to the allegations, Chadha had dismissed them as ‘baseless’ and part of a ‘coordinated campaign’ to target him. He said his focus in Parliament was to raise issues affecting the common man rather than creating disruption.Listing his work, Chadha said he has consistently raised concerns like expensive food at airports, taxation on the middle class, working conditions of delivery workers and telecom pricing – issues that have helped him build a strong connect with young voters.
