Try to reach out to the grassroots level
Vijay urged booth level coordinators and volunteers to conduct a disciplined, large-scale door-to-door campaign across the state. He asked the workers to dedicate time in the morning and evening to meet voters personally and appeal for support.“In the next ten days… go door to door… meet the people of Tamil Nadu face to face every day,” he said. He asked them to solicit votes for TVK candidates on the “CT” symbol.He stressed that such direct participation would be important to strengthen the party’s presence ahead of the polls.
‘Elections for a generation’
Describing the elections as much more than a routine political contest, Vijay described it as a “great change for a generation” and a fight to establish “true people’s rule”.He directed state and district level leaders to work in close coordination with the candidates, urging them to “embrace all” and pursue campaign efforts with “selfless camaraderie”.“This election is not just for us, but for a big change… dedicate selfless efforts and add strength to our victorious journey,” he said.
Triangular contest taking shape
Confident of victory, Vijay said that Tamil Nadu would unite as a “victory procession” and said that “only good will happen.”The April 23 election is expected to see a contest between the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led NDA with the Bharatiya Janata Party and Vijay’s TVK, which marks his electoral debut. Counting of votes is to take place on May 4.
