The government has reconstituted NITI Aayog by appointing Ashok Lahiri as the new vice-chairman and four new members in the think tank’s biggest reshuffle since it was set up in 2015.AIIMS Delhi director M Srinivas has been named member along with Science and Technology Secretary Abhay Karandikar and honorary professor KV Raju of Chanakya University.Gobardhan Das, director of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal, who contested the 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal on a BJP ticket, has also been appointed member, Rajeev Gauba remains the only member who was part of the previous team.The revival of NITI Aayog has been under discussion since the NDA returns to power in 2024, as the think tank had lost steam with very few new ideas emerging from the building that once housed the Planning Commission.The change began last month with BVR Subramaniam, who served as CEO for three years, leaving NITI Aayog. Who will be the new CEO is being actively discussed in policy circles and School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar is seen as the frontrunner.The new make-up of the team is a mix of experts from all sectors of the economy – from the medical field to rural management.‘Need to make appropriate policies to fulfill PM’s vision’Lahiri is an experienced economist and Raju is a member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, with expertise in agriculture, water and rural management.Srinivas is the health expert, while Karandikar will handle science and technology and Das will handle immunology and health. Gauba’s rich experience in administration will provide valuable insights into policy making and reform.“Improving the quality of life of remote areas, farming community and general public is essential for the overall development of the country,” Das said in a post on X. He said that this was a big opportunity for a Dalit coming from a family of farmers in West Bengal.“PM Modi’s dream is to make the country ‘Developed India’ by 2047… To fulfill this vision, we need to ensure that appropriate policies are made… I give credit to the past education policies of West Bengal, which played a big role in my appointment as Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog… It is a great honor for the state of West Bengal,” Lahiri said after meeting the PM.“NITI Aayog has emerged as a key pillar in India’s policy-making architecture, promoting cooperative federalism, driving reforms and promoting ‘ease of living’. सरस्वती शिशु मंदिर इंटर कॉलेज चौरासी की छात्रा गीतिका पंत ने उत्तराखंड बोर्ड परीक्षा में 98 प्रतिशत अंक प्राप्त कर प्रदेश में संयुक्त रूप से प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त कर जिले का नाम रोशन किया है। उन्होंने 500 में से 492 अंक हासिल किए. हाईस्कूल में भी उन्होंने 97 फीसदी अंक हासिल कर जिले में टॉप किया. हाईस्कूल परीक्षा में उन्होंने प्रदेश में 10वां स्थान हासिल किया था।

गीतिका के पिता चन्द्रशेखर पंत एक टैक्सी ड्राइवर हैं जबकि मां रितिका पंत एक गृहिणी हैं। उन्हें हिंदी में 99, गणित में 98, फिजिक्स में 99, केमिस्ट्री में 94 और अंग्रेजी में 100 अंक मिले हैं। हाईस्कूल में गीतिका ने हिंदी में 97 प्रतिशत, संस्कृत में 99, गणित में 98, विज्ञान में 98, सामाजिक विज्ञान में 96 और अंग्रेजी में 92 प्रतिशत अंक हासिल किए थे। गीतिका अपनी सफलता का श्रेय अपने माता-पिता और दादा को देती हैं। चन्द्रशेखर पंत और दादी मुन्नी पंत का आशीर्वाद और गुरुजनों को दिया है।

रामनगर के लखनपुर निवासी गोपाल कुमार के पुत्र अक्षत गोपाल ने इस वर्ष हाईस्कूल परीक्षा में 500 में से 491 अंक प्राप्त कर प्रदेश में सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्थान प्राप्त किया है। अक्षत के पिता रामनगर के एक निजी स्कूल में शिक्षक हैं, जबकि मां ममता गोपाल गृहिणी हैं। अक्षत ने बताया कि वह हर दिन चार से पांच घंटे पढ़ाई करता था। इसके लिए उन्होंने कोई ट्यूशन नहीं ली. बताया कि गणित और विज्ञान को समय देते समय उन्हें हिंदी और अंग्रेजी सबसे कठिन विषय लगे। बताया कि हिंदी व अंग्रेजी में अंक कटने की संभावना काफी अधिक है. इसके लिए उन्होंने हिंदी और अंग्रेजी पर ज्यादा ध्यान दिया. बताया कि स्कूल के शिक्षकों ने उसे एक्स्ट्रा क्लास दी. जिसके चलते वह यह मुकाम हासिल कर सके। बताया कि वह भविष्य में इंजीनियर बनना चाहता है।

नैनीताल जिले के सबसे दूरस्थ विकासखंड बेतालघाट के खैरना स्थित जीबी पंत जीआईसी इंटर कॉलेज की छात्रा भूमिका ने उत्तराखंड बोर्ड परीक्षा में हाईस्कूल में प्रदेश में तीसरा स्थान हासिल कर जिले और क्षेत्र का नाम रोशन किया है। भूमिका ने हाईस्कूल में 500 में से 490 अंकों के साथ 98 फीसदी अंक हासिल किए। भूमिका की उपलब्धि पर इलाके के लोगों ने खुशी जताई है। भूमिका ने बताया कि लगातार सात घंटे पढ़ाई कर उसने यह मुकाम हासिल किया है. भूमिका ने बताया कि शिक्षकों और परिवार के सदस्यों के सहयोग से उन्हें राज्य में तीसरा स्थान पाने का मौका मिला. भूमिका ने बताया कि वह भविष्य में इंजीनियर बनना चाहती है. साथ ही उनके पिता देवेन्द्र सिंह जलाल एक बिजनेसमैन हैं। भूमिका की उपलब्धि पर स्कूल प्रबंधन और क्षेत्रवासियों ने खुशी जताई है।

मैनेजर की शिकायत पर पुलिस ने कार्रवाई की
जानकारी के मुताबिक कंपनी के सेल्स मैनेजर की शिकायत के बाद यह कार्रवाई की गई. शिकायत मिलते ही कोतवाली नगर पुलिस ने तुरंत कार्रवाई करते हुए वजीरगंज इलाके में स्थित एक गोदाम पर छापा मारा. इस छापेमारी के दौरान पुलिस को भारी मात्रा में नकली ‘फॉर्च्यून रिफाइंड’ तेल मिला, जिसे तुरंत जब्त कर लिया गया.

कोलकाता की टीम ने पहचान में मदद की
इस पूरे ऑपरेशन में कंपनी की एक विशेष टीम भी शामिल थी, जो कोलकाता से अयोध्या पहुंची थी. आईपी ​​लीगल सुप्रिया केतन चतुर्वेदी ने बताया कि कंपनी की टीम ने मौके पर पहुंचकर असली और नकली तेल की पहचान की और पुलिस को आवश्यक जानकारी दी। इसी सूचना के आधार पर पुलिस ने यह बड़ी कार्रवाई की.

पुलिस की जांच जारी है, दोषियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाएगी
पुलिस अधिकारियों का कहना है कि इस मामले में शामिल लोगों की पहचान की जा रही है और जल्द ही पूरे नेटवर्क का पर्दाफाश किया जाएगा. दोषियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी.

नकली उत्पाद सेहत के लिए खतरनाक हो सकते हैं

New Delhi: India’s peak power demand hit an all-time high of 252 GW on April 24 as temperatures soared across the country, pushing power consumption to record highs, reports Atul Mathur.According to Grid Controller of India data, power demand reached 252.1 GW at 3.28 pm on Friday, higher than 240.1 GW recorded on April 23, due to increased use of ACs in both domestic and commercial sectors. Earlier, the highest demand till date was recorded on May 30, 2024, when it was 249.9 GW.

Banda was hottest on Saturday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a scorching heat this year, with the power ministry estimating the maximum power demand at 271 GW. With heat wave conditions prevailing in large parts of the country, officials said power demand and consumption is likely to increase further this month.To put this in perspective, the peak power demand recorded in April last year was 235 GW. Due to mild weather in 2025, peak demand reached a year’s high of 242.8 GW on June 12, although the power ministry had projected demand to reach 270 GW. Due to extreme cold conditions in North and Northeast India, the power demand crossed the 245 GW mark on January 9 this year.According to data compiled by Grid India, power consumption remained low till April 12 due to mild weather and sporadic rains in North India, but has been increasing steadily since April 13.Demand this week defied the grid controller’s forecast, which had estimated a peak of about 240 GW on April 24. For the week of April 27 – May 3, demand is projected to be low initially, but to increase to 246 GW on May 1.Officials said the demand may increase further as the IMD has indicated that heat wave conditions may develop in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and isolated parts of Delhi, UP, Rajasthan and Central India in the coming days.“These weather conditions will increase power consumption across the country and the power demand may increase further, reaching a new high in the coming days,” an official said.
