Bengal Elections 2026: Bengal Elections: Lock your goons in garages on April 29, Amit Shah warns Mamata Banerjee. kolkata news
Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah Reply to CM on Saturday Mamata BanerjeeThreatening to drag him to court for his “ulta latka denge (will hang you upside down)” remarks at public rallies, he said BJP’s victory in Bengal will end the “fear of goons” after May 4.After “success” in the election, Shah said he would feed PM Narendra Modi the famous sitabhog (a sweet speciality) of Burdwan.“Didi gets angry when I threaten goons. Should I hug her?” Shah, in his two rallies at Jamalpur in East Burdwan and Shyampur in Howrah, asked the CM to “rein in his goons”.“Didi accused me of scolding her goons. Should I show love towards them? I am asking didi to lock her goons in the garage. We will not spare anyone if they touch our mother,” he said, adding that no Bahubali was seen on the streets during the first phase of voting. “I am again warning them to stay indoors on April 29,” he said.“In every election, Trinamool-backed goons disrupt the elections through violence,” Shah said. “Therefore, in every rally, I warn these goons to face dire consequences. I am now just issuing a note of warning. If the goons do not mend their ways, their place will be behind bars.”Shah’s words came when Banerjee, while addressing a rally in Hooghly, said, “We are going to file a legal case against Amit Shah for his violent comments. As the Union Home Minister, he cannot make such comments.”The CM targeted Shah’s comments as a warning to TMC workers and said the BJP’s “coercive approach” would fail to impress Bengal voters. He said, “To say that you will hang people upside down after the elections is unacceptable. With this mentality, you will never be able to win Bengal.”Shah reiterated the issue of women’s safety and said that no CM has ever issued restrictions on women’s movement in BJP-ruled states. He said, “BJP has chief ministers in 20 states. No one said women should not come out of their homes after 7 pm. In Bengal, a girl can ride a scooter even at midnight after May 5, and no goon will dare to look into her eyes.”Shah emphasized on Aam Janata Unnayan Party chief Humayun Kabir’s plan to establish Babri Masjid. Shah said, “Mamata didi wants her colleague Kabir to build Babri Masjid. There is no place for it in Bengal. If we come to power, we will build a Durga temple in the state.”
