Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Nandre Berger has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee and given one demerit point for breaching the IPL code of conduct during Match 32 against Lucknow Supergiants. The incident took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. What happened?Berger was found guilty of making the send-off gesture after dismissing LSG captain Rishabh Pant. The act was deemed a breach of Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with using language or gestures that may provoke an aggressive reaction from an opponent. The left-arm fast bowler admitted a Level 1 offense and accepted the penalty imposed by the match referee. According to IPL rules, decisions on Level 1 violations are final and binding, leaving no room for appeal.Royals’ dominance despite controversyThe disciplinary action came in a match where Rajasthan Royals produced a brilliant all-round performance to beat Lucknow Super Giants by 40 runs.Defending a modest score of 159, RR bowled out LSG for just 119 runs in 18 overs. The chase never really took off, with Pant’s early dismissal leading to the team’s collapse. Only Mitchell Marsh offered resistance with a fighting half-century.Earlier, LSG’s bowling unit had done well to contain RR, with Mohammed Shami striking twice in a row while Mohsin Khan and Prince Yadav kept a tight hold. Ravindra Jadeja played a decisive all-round role for Rajasthan Royals. His unbeaten 43 took the innings by storm after the initial setbacks and he later contributed with the ball to break LSG’s resistance. He was well supported by Jofra Archer and Berger himself, who, despite the controversy, made significant successes. The comprehensive win lifted Rajasthan Royals to second place on the points table, solidifying their campaign. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants finished 9th in the points table after another disappointing batting performance.

IPL 2026: From square to straight – Abhishek Sharma redraws the map
Abhishek Sharma (ANI photo)

SRH opener’s 135* against DC was an inning built on subtle changes in geometry, balance and intentBy Tuesday night in Uppal, Abhishek Sharma had started looking more readable. Neither the talent was in doubt nor the intent, but the bowlers had begun to guide them into a familiar pattern. Deep midwicket and deep cover were the two coordinates of concern in recent times, with fields set not only to stop him but to highlight a familiar pattern. They dragged Abhishek, lured him to the intersection and stood there waiting with security. For Abhishek, violence was still there but the options seemed to be diminishing. For a batsman who thrives on instinct, the narrowness of the map was beginning to make sense.Go beyond limits with our YouTube channel. Subscribe now!Against Delhi Capitals, Sharma did not show just one weak stretch. He reclaimed the grounds. His unbeaten 135 off 68 balls with 10 fours and 10 sixes took Sunrisers Hyderabad to 242/2 and won by 47 runs. This was also the ninth T20 century of his career. But the significance of the shift goes beyond quantity – it was a smart adjustment.Sharma looked less rushed, less eager to create and more willing to let the ball come on its own terms. Beneath the flourish lies a wonderful recalibration. This change was most visible in his scoring arc. The arc that once spanned the horizontal has now narrowed and become straight. Seventy-one runs fell on the field through long-on and long-off. The corridor which they had neglected for so long has now been reclaimed with authority.

Abhishek Sharma

The old temptation was to keep the game square, especially through cover and point. Here, the path of the bat seemed clear and the intention straight. He got 34 runs from off drive. His footwork, still intuitive and balletic, gained a new grammar. First, he carelessly moved away to create width and force a square hit. Sharma now got to the ball, pushed the pace, closed down the angles and finished it on his own terms.Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis said, “On flat tracks, he (Sharma) is almost like Chris Gayle.” The SRH opener displayed a steady base, clean delivery and a mind that remapping the field in real time. In doing so, the 25-year-old destroyed Delhi’s plans with great ease.

8 clever interior design tricks to make a small bedroom feel like a luxury space

8 clever interior design tricks to make a small bedroom feel like a luxury space
Small bedroom design: 8 exhibition secrets to maximize space

Small bedrooms are a reality in many UK homes. Be it a compact flat in the city or a modest extra room in daily use, the challenge of making limited square footage comfortable, serene and thoughtful is one that most of us know well. The solution may lie somewhere unexpected: exhibition design. The same techniques used to create world-class brand experiences and immersive environments can be applied to residential spaces with remarkable results. Think about how a well-designed exhibit guides you through a space, drawing your attention and making even a modest footprint feel full of possibility. The same logic works at home too.Read on as we reveal eight expert ways to apply the same experiential principles to even the smallest bedroom.

Design for flow, not just Furniture

The first mistake most people make in small bedrooms is placing furniture without thinking about movement. In exhibition design, flow is everything. Visitors are intuitively guided through a space, without ever feeling cramped or confused.A The 2026 study, which was recently published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology states, “Layouts that prioritize unobstructed movement routes significantly improve perceived spaciousness and reduce cognitive load in small rooms.” This is another way to support the principle of “design for flow”, meaning that when a person moves naturally through a space, it feels larger and less stressful to them, even if the amount of space available has not been increased.

Exhibition Design: The surprisingly simple secret to making small bedrooms seem spacious

Exhibition Design: The surprisingly simple secret to making small bedrooms seem spacious

Noisey & Company, a UK-based hybrid creative agency that specializes in immersive brand experiences and exhibition design, knows better than most how to get more from less. In an interview with The Times of India, Managing Director Sam Allen shared, “In any well-designed environment, you should be able to move around in the space without thinking about it. In a small bedroom, this means being deliberate about where your bed sits in relation to the door, cupboard and window. Where possible, aim for at least 60cm of clear space around the bed and avoid the urge to fill every wall.’

Create zones within a room

A bedroom that is to serve as a sleeping space, dressing area, and perhaps even a workplace requires some sense of structure. Exhibitions do this constantly, using subtle visual cues to signal transitions from one area to another without erecting walls.A well-placed rug, a change in paint color on a wall or a lower shelf unit can all define an area without cluttering the space. The result is a room that feels organized and intentional rather than cluttered.

think like a curator

Walk into any great exhibition, and you will see that there is nothing accidental. Every thing earns its place. Sam recommends applying the same standards to smaller bedrooms.“Edit ruthlessly,” he said. “Every piece of furniture, every accessory, every decorative item should have a reason for being there. In a small room, anything that doesn’t serve a purpose is just taking up space and visual energy.”

Can exhibition design make your small bedroom look bigger?

Can exhibition design make your small bedroom look bigger?

A curated bedroom feels calmer and more spacious, even if the square footage hasn’t changed.

Use vertical space to your advantage

Floor space may be limited, but the walls go all the way up. Tall cabinets, floor-to-ceiling cabinets and wall-mounted storage draw the eye upward and make a room feel larger than its size. This is a well-used trick in exhibition design, where height is used to create a sense of drama and scale.

layer Light for depth

Flat, overhead lighting makes a small room feel smaller. Exhibitions use multiple light sources at different heights to create ambiance, attract attention, and add dimension.“Lighting is an underutilized tool in residential design,” Sam said. “A bedside lamp, a strip of warm light behind the headboard, a small spotlight on a piece of art; these layers make a room look rich and thoughtful and they cost much less than a renovation.”

Choose multifunctional pieces

Storage beds, ottomans, fold-down desks, and bedside tables with drawers all do more than one thing. In experiential design, each element of a creation has to justify the space it occupies. The same thinking applies here also.

The spatial thinking behind immersive brand experiences can make your compact bedroom feel completely different

The spatial thinking behind immersive brand experiences can make your compact bedroom feel completely different

Where possible, choose furniture that works twice as hard. For example, a bed with under-frame storage can free up an entire closet’s worth of space.A 2026 Studies in Building and Environment found, “The use of subtle zoning techniques and multi-functional furniture has significantly increased spatial efficiency and user satisfaction in compact living environments.” It supports creating zones and using multi-functional furniture, confirming that dividing a room visually (without walls) improves both usability and comfort.

engage the senses

Great experiences are not purely visual. Scent, texture and sound all determine how we feel in a space. A small bedroom that smells fresh, has textiles that are soft to touch and is not acoustically harsh will always feel more comfortable than a bedroom that looks good but feels cold.“People often forget that a room is something you see and feel,” Sam said. The heaviness of a good quilt, the scent of a candle, and the plushness of a carpet are the little touches that make a room truly cozy.Researcher in A 2026 study in Lighting Research and Technology Journal revealed that layered lighting strategies increased perceived depth, warmth, and overall satisfaction with the environment compared to single-source overhead lighting. This confirms the recommendation about layered lighting and sensory involvement, showing that multiple light sources can make a room feel brighter, darker and more welcoming.

refresh like an exhibition

Exhibitions do not last forever. They refresh, rotate and evolve. Applying that mentality to a small bedroom, changing out cushions according to the seasons, rearranging a shelf, or changing out artwork keeps the space alive without requiring a complete redesign.

Making the most of a small bedroom is less about fitting more in it and more about designing with intention

Making the most of a small bedroom is less about fitting more in it and more about designing with intention

A small bedroom needs to be better designed to make the most of it. The same principles we use to create immersive exhibitions, including flow, intention, sensory detail and thoughtful use of space, translate remarkably well to residential design. When you start thinking about how a room feels when you walk into it, rather than how it looks in a photo, everything changes. With thoughtful layout, clever storage and a focus on the full sensory experience, even the smallest bedroom can become a well-designed relaxation space. You don’t need much square footage. You need to have a clear idea of what you want to do in that space, and have the discipline to design around it.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s cause of death revealed; Medical examiner says teen died from ‘serious injuries’

Celeste Rivas Hernandez's cause of death revealed; Medical examiner says teen died from 'serious injuries'

The official cause of death of 14-year-old singer Celeste Rivas Hernandez, associated with singer D4vd, has finally been revealed.

Cause of death of Celeste Rivas revealed

The teen, who was found dead and mutilated in the trunk of D4vd’s Tesla car, had ‘severe injuries’, according to an autopsy report released on Wednesday. According to the autopsy, there were significant wounds on his torso, which were probably caused by a sharp object.

Celeste Rivas’ body parts missing

His body was so disfigured that examiners could not even determine the color of his eyes. According to reports, at the time of her death she had braces and a tattoo on the inside of her finger that read “Shh…”. Parts of his hands and feet were missing as well as two other fingers. The body was reportedly ‘badly decomposed’ and its head was “partially skeletonized and missing its left eye.”

drugs found in his system

The autopsy report is “presumptive positive” for methamphetamine and MDMA, according to a report by LA County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Ode C. Ukpo. The report further states that the victim may have had alcohol in her system, but it did not cause her death. The examiner in Los Angeles ruled that Celeste was killed by multiple injuries caused by unspecified objects, and ruled her death a homicide.

The report was sealed after prosecutors granted permission for release.

A judge ordered the report sealed in November at the request of law enforcement after the teen’s dismembered body was found in September. But prosecutors agreed this week to allow its release. Dr. Ode C. Ukpo, L.A. County’s chief medical examiner, has sought to emphasize his agency’s independence from law enforcement and make its work as public as possible since taking over three years ago.He has said that he does not believe that sealing reports of his office’s work helps the investigation and has said that he would block release of the reports if compelled by court order.“After many months, I am grateful that this information can now be released not only to the public, but also to the grieving family,” Ukpo said in a statement Wednesday. “It is beyond comprehension that they had to wait so long to find out what happened to their daughter.”

Reason behind alleged murder

Prosecutors allege D4VD murdered the girl because she threatened to report that they had had a sexual relationship when she was 13 and he feared it would ruin her budding career.21-year-old alt-pop singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, was charged with murder on Monday. He pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, committing a lewd and lascivious act on a person under the age of 14 and mutilating a corpse. Burke’s attorneys said he did not cause Rivas Hernandez’s death and that they will vigorously defend his innocence.
