New Delhi: Cumulative seizures of potential election baiters in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu have reached Rs 1,072 crore, with the former accounting for 96% of the value of liquor seized and the latter accounting for 78% of illegal cash seizures.While Tamil Nadu will vote in one phase on Thursday, West Bengal will vote in two phases on Thursday and April 29.Of the total seizures of Rs 1,072 crore since the activation of the Election Commission’s Election Seizure Management System (ESMS) on February 26, 2026, Rs 599.2 crore (56%) were seized from Tamil Nadu and Rs 472.9 crore (56%) from West Bengal.Of the total cash seizure of Rs 127.7 crore, more than Rs 100 crore was in Tamil Nadu and Rs 27.5 crore was in West Bengal. About 39.3 lakh liters of liquor worth Rs 102.5 crore was seized in West Bengal, while 1.2 lakh liters of liquor worth Rs 3.8 crore was seized in Tamil Nadu.The value of seized free items was over Rs 259 crore in Tamil Nadu, while it was Rs 178.8 crore in West Bengal. Seizures of precious metals are almost three times higher in Tamil Nadu compared to West Bengal. Drugs worth Rs 108 crore were seized in West Bengal and Rs 76.7 crore in Tamil Nadu.The Election Commission, in several review meetings with Chief Secretaries, Chief Electoral Officers and Director Generals of Police as well as heads of enforcement agencies of both the poll-bound states and their border states, has directed them to ensure violence-free, fear-free and inducement-free elections. मुजफ्फरनगर जिले में अवैध मादक पदार्थों के खिलाफ विशेष अभियान चलाया जा रहा है ऑपरेशन दहन इसके तहत नारकोटिक्स सेल द्वारा बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए 996.669 किलोग्राम अवैध मादक पदार्थ को व्यवस्थित तरीके से नष्ट किया गया. नष्ट की गई इन दवाओं की अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में अनुमानित कीमत करीब 1 करोड़ 70 लाख रुपये आंकी गई है.
यह कार्रवाई पुलिस महानिदेशक के निर्देश पर चलाये जा रहे राज्यव्यापी “ऑपरेशन दहन” अभियान के तहत की गयी.
जब्त की गई दवाएं एनडीपीएस अधिनियम के तहत दर्ज 27 मामलों से संबंधित थीं।
माननीय न्यायालय एनडीपीएस एक्ट/अपर सत्र न्यायालय के आदेश के अनुपालन में जिला औषधि निस्तारण समिति द्वारा विभिन्न थानों में पंजीकृत 27 मुकदमों से संबंधित मादक पदार्थों को नष्ट किया गया।
इन मामलों में बरामद अवैध गांजा, चरस, डोडा/पोस्त एवं अन्य नशीली गोलियों को पर्यावरण मानकों का पालन करते हुए सुरक्षित तरीके से नष्ट कर दिया गया।

सभी नशीले पदार्थों का निस्तारण जिला औषधि निस्तारण समिति की देखरेख में किया जाएगा। सुभारती मेडिकल कॉलेज इसे वहां स्थित अधिकृत भस्मक में नष्ट कर दिया गया।
इस प्रक्रिया के दौरान पर्यावरण सुरक्षा मानकों का विशेष ध्यान रखा गया, ताकि विनाश प्रक्रिया को पूरी तरह से नियमों के अनुसार पूरा किया जा सके।

वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक संजय कुमार वर्मा के निर्देशन में जिला औषधि निस्तारण समिति का गठन किया गया। पुलिस अधीक्षक यातायात अतुल कुमार चौबे के नेतृत्व में इस समिति में क्षेत्राधिकारी ऋषिका सिंह एवं प्रभारी एंटी नारकोटिक्स सेल मुनीष कुमार को शामिल किया गया।
नष्टीकरण की पूरी प्रक्रिया समिति की मौजूदगी में की गई।
कई पुलिस स्टेशनों से जुड़े मामले नशे से जुड़े थे.
नष्ट किये गये मादक पदार्थ विभिन्न थाना क्षेत्रों में दर्ज मामलों से संबंधित थे. इनमें सिविल लाइन थाने के 5, नई मंडी के 4, पुरकाजी का 1, मंसूरपुर के 13 और मीरापुर के 4 मामले शामिल हैं।
इन सभी मामलों में जब्त की गई दवाओं को एकत्र कर कानूनी प्रक्रिया के तहत नष्ट कर दिया गया।
गांजा, चरस, डोडा समेत कई प्रकार के नशीले पदार्थों को नष्ट किया गया.
विनाश के दौरान कुल 996.669 किलोग्राम अवैध मादक पदार्थ नष्ट किये गये, जिसमें 26.68 किलोग्राम गांजा, 1.960 किलोग्राम चरस, 965.13 किलोग्राम डोडा/पोस्त और 2.899 किलोग्राम अन्य नशीली गोलियाँ शामिल थीं।
जिले में नशे के खिलाफ चलाये जा रहे अभियान में यह कार्रवाई एक बड़ी उपलब्धि मानी जा रही है.
ऑपरेशन दहन अभियान के तहत कार्रवाई जारी है
पुलिस महानिदेशक के निर्देश पर अवैध मादक पदार्थों के निस्तारण एवं नष्टीकरण के लिए प्रदेश भर में “ऑपरेशन दहन” अभियान लगातार चलाया जा रहा है।
जिला स्तर पर भी इस अभियान के तहत जब्त किये गये मादक पदार्थों को सुरक्षित एवं कानूनी तरीके से नष्ट करने की प्रक्रिया जारी है.
नशे के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई से अपराध नियंत्रण मजबूत हुआ
पुलिस अधिकारियों का कहना है कि इस तरह की कार्रवाई से न केवल अवैध मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी पर अंकुश लगता है बल्कि समाज में नशे के खिलाफ जागरूकता भी बढ़ती है.
भविष्य में भी जिले में इस तरह के अभियान को और तेज करने की योजना बनाई जा रही है।
ऑपरेशन दहन अभियान के तहत लगभग 10 क्विंटल अवैध मादक पदार्थ का नष्ट किया जाना मुजफ्फरनगर पुलिस द्वारा नशे के विरुद्ध की जा रही सख्त कार्यवाही का स्पष्ट संकेत है। इस कार्रवाई को जिले में मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी को प्रभावी ढंग से रोकने और समाज को नशा मुक्त बनाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम माना जा रहा है.
