
Officials said that the age of the victim is said to be around 17 years and her identity has not been established yet.
He further said that the body was recovered from a government school located in Sopodera village of Parsudih police station area.
The body was first seen by the operator of an Anganwadi center running in the school premises. Parsudih police station in-charge Avinash Kumar said that the operator immediately informed the police, after which a team reached the spot and started investigation.
Later the body was sent to MGM Hospital for post-mortem to find out the exact cause of death.
Efforts are being made to identify the girl. Police said that neighboring police stations have been asked to verify the missing complaints lodged in their respective jurisdictions.
“We have asked neighboring police stations to verify the missing reports in their respective areas to establish the identity of the victim. Local people told us that the girl was not from Sopodera village,” Kumar said.
Asked whether the case was related to rape and murder, the officer said no indication of sexual assault was found during the preliminary investigation.
The official further said, “The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report comes.”
