Speaking about the failure of the Constitution Amendment Bill on women’s reservation in Parliament yesterday, PM Modi said he was sad and angry at the outcome. “Today, among my people, I want to express my pain and anger. I personally appealed to all political parties to support the bill. I told them clearly that they can take the credit; I have no objection.” I only wanted that sisters from ordinary families should come to Parliament and Assemblies in large numbers.He attacked the opposition, including the DMK and Congress, for the failure of the bill, saying, “DMK, Congress and their allies made it a target of hatred and petty politics.”Taking aim at the ruling DMK on Thursday over wearing black clothes in the protest, she said, “DMK cannot hide its evil intentions by wearing black clothes. People know your dark deeds and you cannot escape from them now.”The Prime Minister accused the party of failing to support women. He said the DMK “harms women” in Tamil Nadu and “does not stand with women even in Parliament,” adding that the party would have to answer for its “anti-women stance.”He said, “Why does DMK and Congress feel troubled seeing women coming forward? These single-family parties want power to remain limited to their own families.”
