A dispute over a thresher in Sheikhpura district of Bihar turned fatal, in which two people lost their lives. Cousins ​​Puna Yadav and Premranjan Yadav were killed in a violent clash between rival groups in Akauna village. As the argument escalated, gunfire broke out, resulting in a fatal shooting. Police have detained five people and deployed forces to maintain order.

Biharsharif: Police said that two people were killed in a violent clash between two rival groups in Akauna village of Sarari police station area of ​​Shekhpura district on Friday night. The deceased were identified as Puna Yadav alias Parmeshwar (65) and Premranjan alias Santosh Yadav (35). They were cousins ​​and residents of the same village.Superintendent of Police (SP) Baliram Chaudhary said that the incident occurred due to a minor dispute over the use of a thresher. “A heated argument broke out between two groups of villagers, which escalated into a violent clash. It involved supporters of Rajesh Yadav and Premranjan alias Santosh Yadav,” he said.The situation turned deadly when members of both the groups allegedly took out country-made firearms and opened fire at each other. Puna Yadav died on the spot after being shot in the head. The SP said Prem Ranjan was seriously injured by the bullet and after initial treatment at Sheikhpura Sadar Hospital, he was referred to Bhagwan Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences (BMIMS), Pawapuri, where he died during treatment.Police said Rajesh Yadav, Amrit Yadav and Kailash Yadav are among the five people who have been detained for questioning. Police force has been deployed in the village to ensure that the matter does not escalate further. The police officer said the FIR had not been registered till Saturday afternoon.Meanwhile, Puna Yadav’s son Sanjeet Kumar alleged that the dispute started with an argument between Rajesh Yadav and Prem Ranjan over running the thresher. “My father went there to pacify them, but Prem Ranjan suddenly took out a gun and shot him,” he alleged, claiming that Amrit Yadav and Raju Yadav instigated the attack.Police said further investigation is underway.
