NCB records highest ever conviction in 73 cases between January and March

New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has set a record by giving stringent punishment to 73 drug criminals in the first quarter of 2026, which has been appreciated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The success is based on a steady increase in the agency’s conviction rate, from 60.5 percent in 2024 to 65.5 percent in 2025, and reaching 68.6 percent in the first three months of this year.“We are determined to close down every breathing space of the drug racket with all our might,” Shah posted on Twitter, reaffirming the zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse.
