Pithoragarh: The doors of Shiv Dham in Jolingkong will open on May 1, which will be the beginning of Adi Kailash Yatra. All departments have been instructed to ensure safe travel for tourists and pilgrims.“Online registration for Inner Line Permit (ILP) will begin from April 28, while offline registration will begin from May 1. ILP is mandatory for the Adi Kailash Yatra, and it will be valid for four days. The pass will be issued by the Dharchula SDM,” District Magistrate Ashish Kumar Bhatgai said at a meeting of various departments on Wednesday.Tourists and pilgrims can obtain medical certificates and police verification from Dharchula and Pithoragarh centres.Adi Kailash is situated at an altitude of 5,945 meters in the Beas valley of Dharchula tehsil. Last year 36,000 tourists visited Adi Kailash and Om Parvat and this year the number is expected to reach 50,000.
