Dhanbad: India has crossed a major milestone with Ayushman Bharat Health Account (Abha) enrollments crossing 90 crore across the country, the system is being piloted by Sunil Kumar Baranwal, an alumnus of IIT (ISM), Dhanbad and Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Authority (NHA).This expansion is being seen as an important step towards building one of the world’s largest and most interoperable digital health ecosystems. Aabha provides a unique digital health ID to every citizen, enabling secure storage and seamless sharing of personal health records across healthcare providers and platforms.Ashok KumarSecretary General of Pan-IIT Alumni India and former President of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Alumni Association congratulated Baranwal and said that this achievement shows how technology and public policy can jointly solve national challenges.“After Aadhaar, UPI and DigiLocker, Aabha represents the next big success story in India’s digital public infrastructure journey,” Kumar said.He said that this initiative will make health services more efficient, transparent and citizen-centric. According to Kumar, digital health records will improve continuity of care, reduce unnecessary diagnostic tests and make healthcare services more accessible to millions of people.Kumar also said that alumni like Baranwal are making significant contributions to the development of the country and remain a source of pride for IIT (ISM), Dhanbad.The Institute heartily congratulates Baranwal for this achievement and expresses confidence that, under his leadership, India’s Digital Health Mission will continue to deliver transformational results for health care access and outcomes.
