Mumbai: A complaint application has been filed against a woman who protested over a traffic jam and shouted at Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan during a BJP rally in Mumbai related to the Women’s Reservation Bill, police said on Friday.A woman named Jane Sadavarte has filed an application against the local police for allegedly creating disturbance during the incident. “He submitted the application around 7 pm or 7.30 pm on Thursday. The local police is investigating the matter,” a senior officer said. However, he said he was not aware of the specific contents of the complaint.Zen is the daughter of lawyer Gunaratna Sadavarte.The incident took place in Mumbai’s Worli area on Tuesday during a rally organized by the BJP to criticize the opposition parties over the defeat of the Constitution Amendment Bill aimed at speeding up 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies.During the rally, when Minister Mahajan was talking to reporters, an agitated woman confronted him and alleged that the closure of the road was causing inconvenience to the commuters. “Go away from here. You are creating traffic jams,” he said, questioning why the event was not held in a nearby open ground.In his complaint, Zen Sadavarte alleged that the woman created ruckus during the rally, used abusive language and created public disturbance.
