New Delhi: After a short and stormy meeting with Election Commission on wednesday Trinamool Congress (TMC) called Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar a “thief, criminal” and accused him of “biased attitude”. According to TMC leaders, the “seven-minute” meeting ended abruptly with the CEC ordering their delegation to “disappear”.“Outlining the details of the encounter, TMC leader Derek O’Brien said the party delegation included Rajya Sabha MPs Sagarika Ghosh and Maneka Guruswamy, former MP Saket Gokhale and he.“All like-minded anti-BJP parties will address a press conference at the Constitution Club today around 4:30-4:45 pm,” O’Brien said.

Nine letters, zero response

Rajya Sabha member O’Brien said the delegation presented nine letters written by the TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee to the Election Commission, none of which were acknowledged or replied to. “We pointed out that if these letters had come from Narendra Modi or Amit Shah, the CEC would have responded immediately,” he said.TMC also presented a list of six officials with alleged links to the BJP in Bengal with photographic evidence. O’Brien said, “We asked for their transfer, including that of the CEO seen with BJP workers in Nandigram. It only took 2-3 minutes to submit this memorandum, and the CEC’s response was simply: ‘Get lost’.”

A delegation became silent

O’Brien also noted that the CEC did not allow any of his fellow officials to speak. “I have been in TMC for 22 years and in Parliament for 16 years and I have met many constitutional authorities, but what I saw today was shameful,” he said, challenging the Election Commission to release audio or video of the meeting to prove otherwise.

Right after the meeting, a media update came out claiming, “Elections in West Bengal will be fear-free, violence-free, inducement-free and without any hush-hush, booth jam.” O’Brien questioned who had sent it, insisting, “The CEC is a thief, a criminal. The only thing he said was ‘Get out.'”Accusing the CEC of trying to play games with the party, the TMC delegation said, “Gyanesh Kumar, you don’t know who you are dealing with. उत्तर प्रदेश के ग्रेटर नोएडा में एक नवजात बच्ची की खरीद-फरोख्त का चौंकाने वाला मामला सामने आया है। पुलिस ने इस मामले का खुलासा करते हुए अस्पताल मालिक समेत तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है. बताया जा रहा है कि लड़की को 2 लाख 60 हजार रुपये में बेचने की तैयारी थी. चाइल्ड हेल्पलाइन से मिली सूचना के बाद पुलिस और एंटी ह्यूमन ट्रैफिकिंग यूनिट ने संयुक्त कार्रवाई करते हुए इस पूरे नेटवर्क का पर्दाफाश किया. फिलहाल लड़की को सुरक्षित स्थान पर भेज दिया गया है और मामले की जांच जारी है.

तीन आरोपी गिरफ्तार, कोर्ट ने भेजा जेल
पुलिस ने इस मामले में दिल्ली निवासी याशिका गर्ग (33), बुलंदशहर के गजेंद्र सिंह (35) और रंजीत सिंह (24) को गिरफ्तार किया है। तीनों आरोपियों को कोर्ट में पेश किया गया, जहां से उन्हें न्यायिक हिरासत में जेल भेज दिया गया. इनके खिलाफ मानव तस्करी और जेजे एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है.

चाइल्ड हेल्प लाइन से जानकारी मिली
सेंट्रल नोएडा के डीसीपी शक्ति मोहन अवस्थी के मुताबिक, चाइल्ड हेल्पलाइन नंबर पर सूचना मिली थी कि एक महिला नवजात बच्ची को गोद लेने के नाम पर बेचने की कोशिश कर रही है. इसके बाद पुलिस और एंटी ह्यूमन ट्रैफिकिंग यूनिट ने मिलकर कार्रवाई की और मामले का पर्दाफाश किया.

अस्पताल में जन्म के बाद रची साजिश!
जांच में पता चला कि करीब पांच दिन पहले एक महिला ने आरोपी अस्पताल में एक बच्ची को जन्म दिया था. महिला आर्थिक तंगी के कारण बच्ची को किसी अच्छे परिवार में देने की बात कर रही थी। इसका फायदा उठाकर अस्पताल मालिक याशिका गर्ग ने लड़की को बेचने की योजना बनाई। अस्पताल का बिल भी पूरा नहीं चुकाया गया था, जिसे इस डील के जरिए वसूलने की कोशिश की जा रही है.

स्टाफ की मिलीभगत से डील फाइनल हुई
इस मामले में अस्पताल स्टाफ की भूमिका भी सामने आई है. नर्स पुष्पा ने समाज में बच्ची को गोद देने की बात फैलाई। उनके पति ने खरीदार से संपर्क किया और सौदा तय कर लिया। याशिका गर्ग ने लड़की को गजेंद्र और रणजीत को सौंप दिया और पैसे लेने के लिए भेज दिया। पुलिस ने तीनों आरोपियों को पतवाड़ी गांव के एक घर से गिरफ्तार कर लिया.

लड़की सुरक्षित, आगे की जांच जारी
पुलिस ने नवजात बच्ची को सकुशल बरामद कर सेक्टर-12/22 स्थित साईं कृपा चिल्ड्रेन होम भेज दिया है। फिलहाल नर्स और बच्ची के माता-पिता की तलाश जारी है. पुलिस इस मामले को मानव तस्करी के बड़े नेटवर्क से जोड़कर भी जांच कर रही है और और भी खुलासे होने की संभावना जताई जा रही है.

लगातार हो रही बर्फबारी से मौसम बेहद ठंडा हो गया है. वहीं, देहरादून समेत मैदानी इलाकों में रात भर हुई बारिश से तापमान में गिरावट दर्ज की गई। बुधवार सुबह से जिले भर में ठंड बढ़ गई और लोगों को फिर से स्वेटर और जैकेट पहनने पड़े। बारिश के कारण ऑफिस और बाजार जाने वाले लोगों को परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ा. कई जगहों पर जलभराव भी हो गया, जिससे जनजीवन प्रभावित हुआ.

मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक, देहरादून का न्यूनतम तापमान 14.6 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया, जो सामान्य से एक डिग्री कम है. मसूरी और अन्य पहाड़ी इलाकों में तापमान और नीचे चला गया है. विभाग ने देहरादून, टिहरी, पौडी, नैनीताल, चंपावत और उधम सिंह नगर में बारिश का ऑरेंज अलर्ट जारी किया है, जबकि अन्य जिलों में येलो अलर्ट है. 2800 मीटर से अधिक ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में बर्फबारी की संभावना है.
