There is no guaranteed way to prevent ovarian cancer. But there are ways to catch it earlier, and it can make a big difference. Regular gynecological exams matter more than many women realize. Maintaining a healthy weight, eating a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, staying physically active — these aren’t revolutionary suggestions, but they do reduce the risk. Avoiding smoking and limiting alcohol also helps.
