New Delhi: Delhi High Court Judge Justice Tejas Karia on Wednesday recused himself from hearing a PIL seeking contempt action against AAP leaders and others. Arvind Kejriwal And Manish Sisodia for allegedly posting and sharing clips of the court hearing related to the former chief minister’s plea to recuse Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma in the liquor policy case, according to news agency PTI.The PIL, filed by lawyer Vaibhav Singh, was listed before a bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Karia. The bench directed that the matter be placed before another bench on Thursday.“This matter will not be heard by this bench. List it tomorrow before a bench in which one of us, Justice Tejas Karia, is not a member,” the court said.According to news agency PTI, during the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel requested that the case be transferred to another bench which was already considering a similar issue.Apart from AAP leaders, the High Court administration and social media platforms like Meta Platform, X and Google have also been made parties in the PIL.Justice Karia, before being elevated to the bench, was a partner in a leading law firm and had represented Meta in several cases.Singh, in his plea, argued that unauthorized sharing of court proceedings on social media undermines judicial independence and violates high court rules.The PIL further alleged that several AAP leaders and members of other opposition parties, including Congress leader Digvijay Singh, “deliberately recorded and circulated” videos of Kejriwal’s appearance before Justice Sharma on April 13 with the aim of tarnishing the image of the court.Claiming that Kejriwal and his associates hatched a “conspiracy” and adopted a “dirty strategy” to record the proceedings, the plea sought formation of an SIT to investigate the matter and initiation of contempt proceedings against “all the respondents who uploaded, reposted, forwarded the recording of the court proceedings dated 13.04.2026”.The petition has also demanded removal of the video from social media platforms.Earlier, on April 15, Singh had filed a complaint with the Registrar General of the High Court over alleged unauthorized recording of court proceedings.On Monday, Justice Sharma refused to recuse himself from the liquor policy case, observing that a litigant cannot be allowed to judge a judge without any material and cannot recuse himself on the basis of unfounded fears of bias.

प्रतिष्ठानों में उच्च गुणवत्ता वाले सीसीटीवी लगाने पर जोर दिया गया

बैठक में व्यापारियों को अपने प्रतिष्ठानों की सुरक्षा मजबूत करने के लिए आधुनिक तकनीकी उपाय अपनाने की सलाह दी गई। उच्च गुणवत्ता वाले सीसीटीवी कैमरे लगाने और उनकी दिशा सही रखने पर विशेष जोर दिया गया।

साथ ही आपसी समन्वय से मुख्य बाजार क्षेत्रों में अतिरिक्त कैमरे लगाने की भी सलाह दी, ताकि संदिग्ध गतिविधियों पर नजर रखी जा सके.

रात्रि सुरक्षा व्यवस्था मजबूत करने की अपील

व्यापारियों को रात्रि के समय बाजारों में पर्याप्त रोशनी सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिये गये। इसके अलावा सामूहिक रूप से सुरक्षा गार्ड या चौकीदार नियुक्त करने पर भी जोर दिया गया.

प्रशासन का मानना ​​है कि सामूहिक सुरक्षा व्यवस्था से अपराध की संभावनाओं को काफी हद तक कम किया जा सकता है.

नकदी परिवहन से पहले पुलिस को सूचित करने की सलाह

साइबर ठगी और ऑनलाइन ठगी के बढ़ते मामलों को देखते हुए व्यापारियों को इनसे बचाव के उपायों के बारे में विस्तार से जानकारी दी गई। उन्हें बताया गया कि किसी भी संदिग्ध कॉल, लिंक या ऑनलाइन पेमेंट आने से पहले सावधानी बरतनी जरूरी है.

साथ ही साइबर हेल्पलाइन 1930 और अन्य आपातकालीन सेवाओं के उपयोग के बारे में भी विस्तार से बताया गया, ताकि किसी भी साइबर धोखाधड़ी की स्थिति में तत्काल सहायता प्राप्त की जा सके।

बैठक में विभिन्न विभागों के अधिकारी भी मौजूद थे.

बैठक में मुख्य अग्निशमन अधिकारी मो अनुराग कुमार जिसमें नगर क्षेत्र के सभी थाना प्रभारी, उपनिरीक्षक, पीडब्लूडी विभाग, बिजली विभाग व यातायात पुलिस के अधिकारी मौजूद रहे।

सभी विभागों ने समन्वय से कार्य करते हुए व्यापारियों की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने का आश्वासन दिया।

पुलिस ने व्यापारियों की सुरक्षा को लेकर प्रतिबद्धता जताई

पुलिस अधिकारियों ने स्पष्ट किया कि जिले में व्यापारियों और आम नागरिकों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए लगातार नियमित गश्त और चेकिंग अभियान चलाया जा रहा है.

ऐसी समन्वय बैठकों का उद्देश्य पुलिस और व्यापारियों के बीच संवाद बढ़ाना और सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को मजबूत करना है।

रिजर्व पुलिस लाइन सभागार में आयोजित व्यापारी सुरक्षा सेमिनार के माध्यम से पुलिस-प्रशासन ने स्पष्ट संदेश दिया कि जिले में व्यापारियों की सुरक्षा सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता है। सीसीटीवी प्रणाली को मजबूत करने, सामूहिक सुरक्षा उपायों को अपनाने और साइबर अपराधों से सतर्क रहने के सुझावों के माध्यम से सुरक्षा प्रणाली को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण पहल की गई है।
