IPL 2026: Vaibhav Suryavanshi started crying after RR's defeat, KKR coach consoled
Vaibhav Suryavanshi (screen grab)

Raw numbers often dominate modern cricket conversations, but it is emotion that gives the game its soul. Beyond the scorecard and strike rate, the game is shaped by moments that reveal the human side of the players. A similar scene came to light after a clash in Eden Gardens on April 19. Rajasthan Royals And Kolkata Knight Riders. As the dust settled on RR’s defeat, a young man came forward. Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, one of this season’s brightest emerging talents, was clearly emotional. The teenager, who once again impressed with the bat, appeared disappointed as the result slipped out of his hands. It was a raw, unfiltered response that made an immediate impact. However, what happened next elevated the moment even beyond the outcome. KKR fielding coach Dishant Yagnik He came forward and consoled the young man. It was a simple gesture, but reflected the deep spirit of cricket. In a league driven by fierce competition, it was a reminder that respect and empathy still have their place.

The conversation took on even more meaning given their shared past. Yagnik had previously worked with RR as their fielding head coach, during the phase when the franchise invested heavily in nurturing young prospects like Suryavanshi. Even after his move to KKR, that relationship clearly endured, underscoring how relationships in franchise cricket often transcend team loyalties.Suryavanshi had done her job on the field. His innings of 46 runs in 28 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes provided RR with a strong platform. However, the middle order could not take advantage of this and the innings lost momentum at crucial stages.Despite the setback, the young batsman’s form remains very positive. With 246 runs in six matches, he is currently fourth in the race for the Orange Cap, underscoring his consistency and influence at the top.RR, placed third in the table with four wins from six matches, eight points and a net run rate of +0.599, will now turn their attention to their next match against Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday. Yet, beyond the points and standings, there are moments that remind everyone why cricket continues to resonate beyond the borders.

“She’s for the streets”: Laura Loomer’s latest attack draws Candace Owens’ family into growing political feud

"that's for the streets": Laura Loomer's latest attack has drawn Candace Owens' family into an escalating political feud
The feud between Candace Owens and Laura Loomer escalates, with Loomer targeting Owens’ father-in-law Michael Farmer. The dispute turned personal after Owens mentioned Loomer’s husband, which drew a heated response. Loomer’s comments have drawn attention to Farmer’s background, though neither he nor Owens have publicly addressed the situation as the controversy continues to grow online.

The feud between Candace Owens and Laura Loomer has gotten more personal and heated, and new announcements are now making the rounds. What started as a political controversy has evolved into something much more specific, with Loomer shedding light on Owens’ personal life. The incident immediately spread across social media with favorable and unfavorable reactions. The most recent uproar is that Loomer publicly challenged Owen’s past relationships and personal decisions. It has become distorted and intensified and its consequences are no longer in the political sphere but in family life and personal history. As the exchange goes on, it shows how easy it is to get into very personal space when it comes to online disputes.

Laura Loomer’s claims push Candace Owens feud into personal territory

In a widely shared post, Loomer made several allegations about Owens’ past, calling them a challenge to her public image. “Candace Owens was living with a man named Ryan, whom she had been dating for 7 years, when she came home one day and told him she was engaged to George Farmer,” he wrote. He questioned Owens’ religious identity, asking “How come he’s a devout Catholic?”The claims did not stop here. Loomer continued, “2 weeks before she got engaged to George Farmer, she was living in Philadelphia with Ryan and her cat. She was planning to marry Ryan. Then she met George and 2 weeks later, she got engaged to him because she had more money than Ryan.”His post continued with a scathing criticism: “Don’t tell him he’s some fanatic Catholic. He’s for the streets.”Loomer also referenced her alleged connection to the situation, writing, “How would I know? Because Candace invited me to dinner with her and Ryan in Connecticut several times in 2017.”The message concluded with a direct mention of Owens’ father-in-law, Michael Farmer, as Loomer said, “Isn’t that right, @TheLordFarmer? Please tell us why you don’t follow your daughter-in-law on X.”Owens and his family have not responded publicly to these recent comments. That silence has only given rise to additional speculation. The episode emphasizes the fact that, in the modern world, political rivalry is usually much more than an ideological contest, bringing people’s stories into the spotlight and having a long-lasting impact on both sides.

“What is the value of Indian Rupee 100 in London?” One Woman’s Supermarket Taste Shocks the Internet and Indians

“What is the value of Indian Rupee 100 in London?” One Woman's Supermarket Taste Shocks the Internet and Indians

“What is the value of Indian Rupee 100 here?” The video with over three million views begins like this. A short, playful video recently shared by VeggieWander on Instagram is going viral across India. It begins with a woman holding a ₹100 note walking through a supermarket on a high street in London. What happened next is not just an experiment but a sober reality check on the cost of living in a foreign land. For those who don’t know, London is often ranked among the most expensive cities to live in the world.₹100 note has good value in India. In some parts of India one can easily buy some quick breakfast, a cup of tea or coffee, or shake and even a basic meal or thali. However, in the UK, the currency is around £0.80 (pound). Let’s see what happens next: As soon as a woman enters the market, her search begins with hope. She thinks, maybe for ₹100 she can get a simple cheese and onion sandwich? But she seemed pretty shaken by the reality that the sandwich cost £1.50 (out of her budget). She starts looking for other items, scanning the shelves with curiosity. He finds a basic necessity: a bottle of water. “I will probably run out of water,” she says, convinced that for ₹100 she should at least get a 500 ml bottle. But his hopes are soon dashed after seeing the price. This bottle costs £1.15 i.e. around ₹143. “I won’t even finish the water,” she says and walks away. Basic things like drinking water are not available for ₹100. But his search does not stop here. She buys a head of cabbage which also costs £0.89—still expensive. Next comes a packet of Oreos, which costs £1.65, which is also way out of the budget. “No, I can’t even buy a packet of Oreos for 100 rupees, because that too is 1.65 pounds.” Every item she picks up tells the same story: There’s nothing worth ₹100 here.At last, his search ended. He finds one thing that is within his budget, a small packet of carrots that costs £0.60 (about ₹75). “Oh man. The only thing I can take is this packet of carrots, which is .6 pounds, so let’s just take that,” she says, laughing half-heartedly. importance of video

value of 100

For many Indians, ₹100 is pricey enough for everyday utility. For us, it’s our auto fare, a plate of chaat, idli sambar and other street food. This is also a dozen bananas or half a kilo of apples. But not in London. The same amount is almost nothing when it comes to value. This video is not only about currency conversion but also about purchasing power, cost of living in a foreign country and the strength of the local currency. Having said that, salaries in UK are much higher than in India. But for visitors and travelers, the difference seems obvious. Finally, the video doesn’t need dramatic commentary. It just shows, how far ₹100 can travel across the border, via a woman’s grocery shop.

2,000-year-old underwater city found in Türkiye shows advanced urban planning. world News

2,000-year-old underwater city found in Türkiye shows advanced urban planning

An ancient city dating back 2,000 years, which was underwater for several decades, has resurfaced as a major archaeological discovery in present-day Turkey. This place, known as Iuliopolis, was under the waters of the Saryar Dam reservoir for almost seven decades since the middle of the last century. Modern excavations conducted from 2009 to 2025 revealed that Iuliopolis was much more than just a small settlement. The ancient city is located about 123 km from the capital of Ankara, which initially existed during the time of the Romans, and later flourished throughout the Byzantine era.

Discoveries of submerged ancient city reshape historical understanding

Evidence from research,”Juliopolis Anthropological Research: Initial Results“, archaeologists from Karabuk University and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations suggest that there may be reason to reconsider some initial assumptions about the importance of this city. It became clear that Iuliopolis had organized religious structures, planned urbanization, and an economy based on production and trade. Some of the objects found in this area are ceramics and storage vessels, as well as tools used by ancient people. One of these is African Red Slip Ware, which shows the city’s connection through trade with far-flung areas, particularly Roman traders active throughout the Mediterranean.

Archaeological evidence shows a strong economic and religious system

The first notable discovery is that of a larder containing large pottery vessels, which were used to store agricultural products such as grain, wine and olive oil. Some of these vessels bear religious markings, indicating that there was interaction, perhaps through church institutions, between economy and religion. These findings came in the researchJuliopolis Anthropological Research: Initial Results”, published in Ankara Studies Journal. All these points point to the conclusion that Iuliopolis functioned as an efficiently planned urban center rather than a frontier city.

The ancient city remained safe for decades due to the sinking of the dam.

The effects of the Saryar Dam construction, which caused flooding in the area, were indirectly responsible for helping to preserve the location, as exposure to the elements was reduced, as well as contact with people who might interfere with the process of uncovering the past. While some areas of the city are flooded, it is still possible to carry out archaeological excavations to understand different aspects of what happened in the ancient city of Asiklik Hoyuk.

Why are underwater cities important for archaeology?

Archaeological discoveries at submerged sites such as Iuliopolis offer rare possibilities for researchers. While archaeological sites on the surface are subject to erosion by the elements and humans, undersea sites have been known to act as protective shields and preserve artifacts.Exploration of these places helps in developing knowledge about ancient urban communities and their occupational and religious practices. For example, research conducted at Iuliopolis has helped to reveal that small towns played an important role in the economic and religious structures of both the Romans and the Byzantines.

What does this discovery mean for future research

The discovery of the city of Iuliopolis shows that modern construction efforts, such as dams, can help cover archaeological sites but also protect them. Future excavations at the site should shed more light on the site’s physical plan, demography, and significance in the ancient world. The development of archeology makes submerged cities more attractive as a source of information about the past. Discoveries made at the site have added to the growing body of knowledge about ancient urban life, especially in areas influenced by both Roman and Byzantine cultures.

Cash is king: 'Given up' cash in exchange for votes; Tamil Nadu residents protest, demand payment

Coimbatore: A protest in Tamil Nadu left a strange truth for the election season – this time the outrage was not over bribery, but over who didn’t get it. Anger over being excluded from cash-for-vote payments spilled over onto a major road in Kottoor, a rural area about 40 km south of Coimbatore and about 500 km southwest of Chennai, as residents blocked traffic towards nearby Pollachi on Monday.Protesters said that families in nearby areas had received money from a political party ahead of voting on April 23, while their area was spared. He demanded “equal treatment, turning a routine election malpractice into a public standoff.”Local police warned that both soliciting and accepting money for votes is a criminal offense and told the crowd that cases could be filed for unlawful assembly and blocking a public road. The protesters dispersed soon after.District officials said complaints about cash distribution had surfaced, but this appeared to be the first protest prompted by being excluded from such distribution. Flying squads and static surveillance teams have been asked to intensify patrolling in the Kottoor area to trace the source of the alleged cash distribution.A social activist said the episode underlines how entrenched the practice has become. “People now see cash in exchange for votes as a right,” he said. news network

IPL 2026: 'sycophancy around MS Dhoni'- Sanjay Manjrekar criticizes CSK management

Chennai Super Kings they’ve had a tough start Indian Premier League The 2026 campaign could only manage two wins from its first six matches and slipped to seventh place in the points table.captain Ruturaj Gaikwad He has faced increasing criticism not only for the team’s results but also for his struggles with the bat. In six innings, he has scored only 82 runs at an average of 13.67 and a strike rate of 112.33, which shows a decline in his form.

Stephen Fleming on CSK’s improvement, bowling pressure and impact player rule

However, former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar He believes that the responsibility cannot be placed only on the young captain. Speaking on Sportstar’s Insight Edge podcast, he pointed to the decision-makers behind the scenes.“This blame, I am going to put at the door of the owners and the people who make the big decisions. Because Gaikwad, before becoming captain, was phenomenal at the top of the order,” Manjrekar said.He also suggested that there should be constant spotlights all around ms dhoni For Gaikwad, the matter is complicated.“And then that thing with MS DhoniWhether he is going to play, whether he is going to be the captain, he handled it very badly. And this is where you see the sycophancy of Indian culture which has seeped into cricket as well. I mean, Dhoni not only has a fan following, there is also sycophancy around him.Manjrekar supported his point by recalling an old moment involving Dhoni, to which fans had reacted strongly.“There was [this] An example of Dhoni trying to put his bat into the crease, and it was a very close call. And I said, OK, he’s clearly short of the crease, and should be run out. They [fans] I got angry at him for saying this because it was anti-Dhoni. So somehow they missed the whole picture.”Meanwhile, Dhoni has not played any part in IPL 2026 so far after suffering a calf strain before the season.Asked whether his return might ease the pressure on Gaikwad, Manjrekar looked unsure, raising questions about how the experienced player would fit into the current set-up.“Maybe, but then you have to play Dhoni on the field. And how do you do that? I mean, increasingly, he is finding it difficult to perform well. So it was a bit of a joke when he would come down the order and play just three or four balls. That would also be publicized in the coverage – ‘What an innings.’ And this continued for four balls.“So that’s not possible now, and it was never going to be a long-term thing. So I can’t pretend to know how Ruturaj felt when MS was on the field but not captaining, whereas MS was not there and he was completely in charge,” he said. The former cricketer also broadened the discussion by comparing CSK’s approach to that of Mumbai Indians and suggested that both the franchises may be overly attached to established stars.Manjrekar said, “CSK and Mumbai Indians are guilty of getting emotionally attached to big-name, big-brand players and investing a little too much. CSK is even more so with Dhoni. It means you are not getting people who are at their peak. It is a bit like living in the past. It is just about including people who are at their peak in T20 cricket. It is a modern-day format, so you can do whatever you want with your team. “It’s best to stay current with him.”
