Supreme Court turns to spirituality to resolve dispute with Kapoor's family

New Delhi: Invoking spirituality in the dispute over the billion-dollar assets of late industrialist Sanjay Kapoor, the Supreme Court on Thursday reminded his mother and wife of the transience of life and said it is always better to resolve issues amicably than endless fighting. The court-directed mediation process hit a wall even before it could begin, with Kapoor’s mother Rani Kapoor alleging that two new independent directors were being appointed to the company to dilute her point of view and Priya Kapoor arguing that this was being done on the instructions of the RBI. A bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and Ujjal Bhuyan appealed to them to be liberal and not go into the arbitration with a prejudicial mind. The SC also directed that no director will be appointed in the meantime. The bench asked Priya to be a little careful with her mother-in-law, pointing out that she was 80 years old and unhappy. It urged both parties not to do anything that could derail the arbitration proceedings. “End the dispute amicably, otherwise it will be a very long battle,” the bench said.Asking both sides to compromise a bit, the Supreme Court said, “We all came into this world empty-handed, and we have to leave the world empty-handed. We come with only our soul. We come with our soul and go with our soul only.”Since the parties had expressed willingness to participate in the mediation, the Supreme Court on May 7 had appointed former CJI DY Chandrachud as the mediator and asked him to refrain from making public statements.

Who is Empath Chan? Controversial streamer shuts down viral death rumors with blunt response

Who is Empath Chan? Controversial streamer shuts down viral death rumors with blunt response

The Internet went wild this week when rumors suddenly began spreading that controversial online personality Empath Chan had died of a drug overdose. Within hours, a flood of screenshots flooded in, users began reposting the claim, and confusion reigned in many online communities familiar with its content. What made this rumor even stranger was how casually it started. A parody account called DissidentWire posted a fake report claiming that Empath Chan “died of a crack overdose.” Despite the account’s history of posting satire and intentionally offensive stories, the post gained popularity almost immediately.

Empath Chan shuts down viral rumor with blunt response

As speculation grew, Empath Chan eventually took action himself. Instead of posting a lengthy explanation or angry statement, he responded with a brief message that immediately cut down the noise: “? I’m alive?”That simple response quickly spread across social media, with many users laughing at how absurd the situation had become. However, others pointed out how easy it has become for fake news to explode online, especially when it involves controversial creators who are already in the middle of constant internet drama.DissidentWire has built its reputation around fake viral headlines and exaggerated political satire. The account had previously posted fabricated stories involving streamers, influencers, politicians and celebrities. Nevertheless, many users either ignored the joke or believed the claim before investigating further.Empath Chan’s online reputation likely helped the rumor’s momentum. Over the past year, she has made a name for herself as an outrage writer, offensive humorist and provocateur on social media.

Empath Chan controversy Continue following the blackface backlash

Empath Chan’s criticism began on Halloween 2025 when he posted blackface photos and videos, sparking a massive backlash online. One post showed her posing for a mirror selfie with the caption: “The only thing I want for Halloween is EBT.”Another post shows him holding an EBT card with the caption: “What should I do with my EBT card before it gets shut down?”The controversy escalated when clips of him repeatedly using racial slurs in blackface surfaced. He was labeled a line-crosser by critics seeking attention, but his supporters said his entire Internet persona is based on trolling and shock value. At the same time, meme culture continued to propel her name into online conversations. A running joke, known as the “Empathchan is bald theory”, became so widespread that it was eventually documented on Know Your Meme. For better or worse, Empath Chan is thriving in exactly the kind of Internet chaos that keeps her name trending.

Regulator bars 366 foreign-flagged ships from hiring Indian seafarers

New Delhi: Maritime regulator DG Shipping on Thursday barred 366 foreign-flagged ships from embarking Indian seafarers as they are accused of abandoning seafarers through non-payment of wages, denying compensation in death or missing cases, causing undue hardships to crew members and lack of assistance in the return of Indian seafarers. DG Shipping cautioned Recruitment and Placement Service License (RPSL) holders against placing seafarers on these vessels, saying it is a violation of national maritime rules and international obligations. In a circular issued to RPSL companies and all Indian seafarers, 278 vessels have been placed in the “restricted” category and the remaining 88 in the “blacklisted” category. DG Shipping also directed all RPSLs to submit details of Indian seafarers embarked on these vessels within 14 days. The maritime regulator said in its order, “…in view of the serious violations of seafarer welfare, abandonment practices and non-compliance with international conventions, 366 vessels are prohibited with immediate effect from engaging Indian seafarers through any RPSL company approved by DG Shipping, until compliance with the above provisions is duly ensured.”

Snieko believes Dalton Eatherly’s arrest could become a major moment in the debate over free speech in America. The livestreamer reacted strongly after Chud Builder was arrested in Tennessee on May 13 following the shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville. During his livestream, Snieko said the situation shows that “free speech is now challenged” and argued that people are losing the rights they were promised under the Constitution. He claimed that people are too quick to punish speech, even if it involves only words. Sneekko also pointed out how some people online were comparing builder Chudd to Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist killed last year.Sneekko said:“Free speech has now been challenged in a way that it will never be able to come back from. We no longer have free speech the way we should have it. We don’t have the amendment rights that we were promised. If you can’t say words in a vacuum… by saying a word alone like this, people will get extremely upset and challenge it more.”Although Sneekko said he disagrees with many of Charlie Kirk’s views, he also said that political disagreement should never lead to violence. he adds:“Charlie Kirk was talking about mass violence. He was talking about problems within America. I disagree with everything he said. I make fun of him all the time… but I don’t think anything violent should have happened to him.”

Attempted murder charge filed against Dalton Eatherly in Montgomery County Courthouse shooting

The shooting happened Wednesday outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee, according to CNN and a statement from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said two people were shot during the incident, including Dalton Eatherly, known online as Chud the Builder. The second person involved has not been publicly identified. Both persons were taken to nearby hospitals. As of Wednesday evening, officials confirmed that both were in stable condition. After the shooting, authorities charged Atherley with attempted murder, use of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous crime, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault. Authorities also confirmed that he remains in custody awaiting his arraignment. Before his arrest, Eatherly spoke about the incident during a livestream. He claimed he had to defend himself after an argument with another man. During the video, she described how the man pointed at her and laughed before tension escalated between them.CNN also reported that Atherley has previously used racist language in his online videos, including calling black people “chimpanzees”. During a livestream after the shooting, the other man reportedly warned Eatherly not to say “all that chimpanzee stuff” before the fight got physical. The case has now sparked a widespread online debate over free speech, online behavior and whether offensive speech should be compared to real-world violence. While Snieko focused on constitutional rights during his response, critics online have argued that repeated hate speech can also create dangerous situations.

The failed radar experiment that changed the world

तारों की खोज से लेकर वाई-फ़ाई खोजने तक: असफल राडार प्रयोग जिसने दुनिया बदल दीHe developed complex mathematical techniques for filtering out cosmic noise, specifically using something called the Fast Fourier Transform. Rather than becoming obsolete, these formulas proved vital to high-speed indoor networking. This unexpected turn addressed the multipath interference problem and laid the groundwork for technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Today, billions of people around the world depend on this breakthrough for connectivity.

a fail radar experiment Helped invent Wi-Fi

According to the report published by CSIROThe adventure began at Parkes Observatory. Researchers there use radio telescopes, which work like radio interferometry, to detect pulses from far-flung parts of the universe. But they faced a challenge: resonance. These were radio waves bouncing off cosmic dust, and they blurred the data. To deal with this problem, a special technology came up which processed the signals simultaneously on multi-carrier modulation.Although the desired stars were not found by the end of his experiment, another discovery emerged. The team’s signal-processing mathematics proved useful for reducing multipath distortion bouncing off walls and furniture in offices on Earth. As a result, this insight led to a patent in 1992 that underlies the fast and stable Wi-Fi we rely on today.

How the Fast Fourier Transform Saved Wi-Fi

As reported in the journal Wireless LANs and Evolution, at the heart of this breakthrough was the Fast Fourier Transform. In radio astronomy, it helped separate signals from background noise. Nowadays, in wireless communications, this mathematical principle lets Wi-Fi routers divide a signal into multiple smaller subchannels. This segmentation prevents data collisions when signals bounce off walls and other surfaces indoors. Interestingly, without this astronomical device that once seemed to fail, wireless speeds would be very slow and unreliable for streaming or professional tasks.

How did a ‘failed’ experiment go global?

Once the CSIRO team made their initial discovery, they turned their findings into a prototype of a wireless local area network, or WLAN, the National Museum of Australia reports. This technology was integrated into the IEEE 802.11 standard, known today as Wi-Fi. What started as a ‘failed’ experiment turned into something incredibly valuable. It entered into significant legal agreements with major technology companies, firmly establishing Australia as the birthplace of modern wireless connectivity.

Star-search principles power Bluetooth

Historically, radar technology for radio astronomy set the principles that now power both Wi-Fi and modern Bluetooth. Radio waves interact with their surroundings in specific ways. What astronomers considered at the time a commercial pivot actually paved the way for our wireless world today. Devices now connect without cables, transforming digital communications and global trade.
