IPL 2026: Abhishek Sharma-Ishan Kishan's performance overshadows Vaibhav Suryavanshi's century in Jaipur

Achieved a big target against Sunrisers Hyderabad Rajasthan Royals On Saturday, they were defeated by five wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium after chasing 229 runs with nine balls to spare in IPL 2026.Young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 103 runs for Rajasthan Royals and scored the third fastest century in IPL history, completing his century in just 36 balls. But their innings ended in defeat as SRH’s batting unit came together to complete the fourth-highest run chase in IPL history. This came just hours after Punjab Kings chased a target of 265 against Delhi Capitals in New Delhi, becoming the most successful target chase in IPL history. For SRH, Ishan Kishan Chased the target by scoring 74 runs in 31 balls, while Abhishek Sharma scored 57 runs in 29 balls after getting two lives in the innings.Heinrich Klaasen added 29 runs and Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 36 runs. Klaasen and Nitish added 53 runs for the fourth wicket to take SRH closer before finishing the job comfortably.Rajasthan Royals used eight bowling options, but poor fielding hurt them badly. He dropped Abhishek Sharma twice. Firstly, Shimron Hetmyer moved away to third man when Abhishek took a straight hit at him off the bowling of Nandre Berger. Later, Tushar Deshpande bowled a low fulltoss and Abhishek sent it to Ravindra Jadeja at backward point, but the catch was again missed.RR also missed another chance when Brijesh Sharma had Nitish Reddy caught behind off the bowling of Jofra Archer when they were on 14.Earlier in the innings, Dhruv Jurel had also dropped the catch of Travis Head on the ball of Archer in the first over. Head had scored only 6 runs but Archer had him caught behind the wicket.Archer also tested Ishan Kishan with a short ball with a speed of 145.4 kmph, which took the edge and hit him on the helmet and ran away for four runs. Kishan recovered quickly and hit three fours off Archer’s balls. After this Abhishek and Kishan took control of the game. He added 132 runs in just 55 balls for the second wicket and kept SRH well ahead in the chase.Earlier, Rajasthan Royals scored 228 runs for six wickets thanks to another strong innings from 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He scored 103 runs in 37 balls with the help of 12 sixes and five fours. He completed his century by hitting a six off Shakib Hussain on his 36th ball, which became the third fastest century in IPL history after his 35-ball century last year and Chris Gayle’s 30-ball century for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013.Suryavanshi got an early lease of life when he was on 32 when Aniket Verma dropped his catch at deep midwicket off Ishan Malinga. He made SRH pay for that mistake and completed his half-century in just 15 balls with a six in the sixth over.He added 40 runs in 14 balls for the first wicket and then made a partnership of 112 runs for the second wicket with Dhruv Jurel, who scored 51 runs in 35 balls. After reaching his century, Suryavanshi was out immediately as he missed to scoop the ball from Saqib Hussain and was out LBW.Pat Cummins returned for SRH and finished with figures of 4-0-27-1, his only wicket being that of RR skipper Riyan Parag for 7 runs.

No Iran-US peace talks 2.0! How did Pakistan’s attempt to broker a breakthrough fail?

In a high-level diplomatic effort, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif Talked to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Islamabad on Saturday.Araghchi arrived in Islamabad carrying Tehran’s formal response to the US proposals, which discussed the ‘regional situation’ and ceasefire dynamics. The meeting saw the presence of Pakistan’s top civilian and military leadership, including Army Chief Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

‘Avoiding the quagmire of war’: Iran claims US is looking for a ‘face saving’ solution as talks stall

Appreciating the visit and describing it as ‘fruitful’, Araghchi wrote in a post on X, “Very useful visit to Pakistan, whose good offices and brotherly efforts to bring back peace to our region we greatly value. Shared Iran’s position regarding a practical framework to permanently end the war on Iran.” “It remains to be seen whether the US is really serious about diplomacy.”

No US-Iran meeting despite mediation efforts

Despite Pakistan’s attempts to mediate talks, no direct or indirect talks took place between Iran and the United States. Tehran made it clear it would not meet the visiting US delegation, which included Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and adviser Jared Kushner.Instead, Iran stated its position through Pakistani mediators and reiterated that any talks would remain indirect. A key condition placed by Tehran was the removal of the US naval blockade of Iranian ports and the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.Officials and analysts have described the prospects of talks as ‘fading fast’ as Islamabad is unable to bring the two sides to the negotiating table despite hosting the event simultaneously, Dawn reported.Ahead of the anticipated talks, Islamabad was placed under an unprecedented security lockdown. Major roads were sealed and red zones cordoned off, severely disrupting daily life. However, the elaborate security arrangement failed to yield any diplomatic success. Expected high-level talks between Washington and Tehran failed to materialize, exposing Pakistan’s mediation efforts.

Iran fulfilled the demands, left Islamabad

After several meetings with the Pakistani leadership, Araghchi left Islamabad the same day, effectively ending hopes of a second round of talks in the city.According to reports, the Iranian delegation handed over ‘an official list of demands’ to Pakistan for communication to the US and its allies. These included conditions relating to cessation of hostilities and lifting of sanctions and blockades.Araghchi later said that Iran had conveyed its ‘principled position’ regarding a ceasefire and an end to what he described as an ‘imposed war’.He is now scheduled to visit Oman and Russia, signaling a shift in Tehran’s diplomatic focus away from Pakistan.

Trump canceled the visit of American delegation

In a major development, US President Donald Trump canceled plans to visit US envoys to Pakistan citing lack of meaningful engagement.“I told my people… you’re not flying 18 hours to get there… we’ve got all the cards. They can call us any time they want,” Trump said. The decision came after Iran refused to engage with the US delegation, making the trip diplomatically futile. In a separate post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “I have canceled the trip of my representatives to Islamabad, Pakistan, to meet with the Iranians. The trip wasted too much time, too much work! Furthermore, there is tremendous infighting and confusion within their “leadership”. No one, including them, knows who is in charge. Furthermore, we hold all the cards, they hold none! If they want to talk, all they have to do is call!!!”

Collapse of talks reflects earlier deadlock

The collapse of this round of diplomacy is reminiscent of the first round of talks held earlier in Islamabad, which lasted for over 20 hours but failed to achieve any breakthrough.Despite continued indirect exchanges through Pakistan, key disagreements, including sanctions relief and the naval blockade, remain unresolved.

Pakistan’s mediation efforts failed

While Pakistan attempted to present itself as a key mediator, the outcome exposed its limited influence over real stakeholders.Even though Sharif described his meeting with the Iranian foreign minister as a ‘warm and cordial exchange’, the inability to facilitate US-Iran ties highlighted Islamabad’s marginal role in the broader geopolitical standoff. With Iran shifting its diplomatic reach to Oman and Russia and the US withdrawing from immediate engagement, Pakistan’s ambitions of hosting a decisive breakthrough in the conflict appear to be waning.

AAP will write a letter to the Rajya Sabha Speaker demanding disqualification of the MPs who joined BJP. india news

AAP will write a letter to the Rajya Sabha Speaker demanding disqualification of the MPs who joined BJP.
BJP president Nitin Nabin (second, right) welcomes Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal, others into BJP

New Delhi: Despite the breakaway faction of AAP MPs claiming that they have strengthened themselves legally with the merger of two-thirds of the party’s members in the Upper House with the BJP, the Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday announced that they will write to Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan seeking disqualification of its seven members who had quit the party a day earlier.Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Maan He has also sought time from President Draupadi Murmu for a meeting with party MLAs regarding the demand to recall seven MPs. Incidentally, the Constitution does not provide for the ‘right of recall’ to MPs or MLAs, guaranteeing them a fixed tenure.Claiming that the move by the seven – Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal, Harbhajan Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Swati Maliwal and Vikramjit Sahni – was “unconstitutional and illegal”, AAP leader in Rajya Sabha Sanjay Singh highlighted that “the anti-defection law clearly says that no division of any kind is allowed in the Assembly, Rajya Sabha or Lok Sabha. It has no legal validity and this has been clearly established in the Shiv Sena case also. However, most legal experts, except Kapil Sibal, have been unanimous in highlighting the inability of the Tenth Schedule to prevent political defection when it reaches the scale of “merger” and have said that AAP MPs joining the BJP would not violate the anti-defection law, which allows two-thirds of the members of a legislative party to secede and merge with another party. However, Sanjay Singh cited the Tenth Schedule and said it clearly provides that any form of division has no legal validity, whether it involves a two-thirds majority or an increase from seven to eight members. He said, “Therefore, the defection of these seven Rajya Sabha MPs from AAP is completely illegal, wrong, unconstitutional and against the parliamentary rules.” He said that he will submit a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman citing all these rules and demanding complete termination of membership of all the seven MPs.Meanwhile, reiterating his stance, Chadha was quoted by news agency PTI on Saturday as saying that those leaving the party have not done so out of fear but due to a growing feeling of “frustration, alienation and hatred” towards the current leadership.Sources said that party insiders say that the AAP leadership was aware for the last few days that its MPs had been contacted by the BJP. Some last-ditch efforts were made by the AAP top leadership to stop at least two MPs from defecting to the BJP.Apart from the discussion that MPs like Mittal defected to the BJP allegedly due to the pressure of the ED cases, this development highlights the organizational challenges within the AAP.For example, not only Chaddha, but also Pathak’s displeasure had been increasing for a long time. Both of them had played an important role in ticket distribution in Punjab and paved the way for victory in the state. However, sources said Pathak was gradually marginalized after the party lost the Delhi elections.Speaking to TOI, Vikramjit Sahni said one of the reasons for his decision was the growing disillusionment with the functioning of the state government and the serious crisis Punjab was facing – ranging from rising debt which has crossed Rs 4.5 lakh crore, agrarian distress, no agro-processing, drug menace and slow implementation of projects. “Some of us MPs also felt that the leadership was not accessible – especially Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann who was difficult to reach and not open to suggestions,” he alleged.

Trumpiana: Straight Talk – Tough Guy, Nice Guy, Goodbye!

Trumpiana: Straight Talk – Tough Guy, Nice Guy, Goodbye!

Donald Trump considers himself a straight talker. But they found themselves in total trouble in the standoff over control of the vital Strait of Hormuz as a battered but resilient Iran hardened its stance on the peace deal.According to a Wall Street Journal insider, as soon as Tehran halted the second round of Islamabad talks before they could even begin, the master of coercive diplomacy considered bombing them again.“…We are offering a very fair and reasonable deal, and I hope they will accept it, because if they don’t, the United States will destroy every single power plant and every single bridge in Iran. No more, Mr. Good Man…” He threatened Truth Social. But he was the one who blinked after the first few hours, announcing an indefinite extension of the ceasefire at the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Prime Minister. Shahbaz Sharifof Pakistan” to allow Iran’s “seriously fragmented” government to “come up with a unified proposal”.As the standoff continued throughout the week, when the US Navy seized an Iranian container ship and Tehran attacked three commercial ships and seized two of them in the maritime standoff, Trump again started talking tough. He claimed, “We have complete control over the Strait of Hormuz. No ship can enter or depart without United States Navy approval.” “It has been ‘sealed tight’ until Iran is able to make a deal!!!”Trump ordered the U.S. Navy to “shoot down and kill any boats, small boats (their naval ships total 159, are on the bottom of the ocean!)” that lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz, and to step up efforts to clear existing mines “at a threefold level.”Despite growing global economic consequences, Trump insisted there is “no time pressure” in negotiations with Iran and “no deadline” to end the war.“Please be advised that I am possibly the least stressed person ever to hold this office,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I have all the time in the world, but not Iran – the clock is ticking!”NBC News tallied 134 published calls between reporters and Trump since the war began on February 28, reporting that the Trump team’s frequent interactions with Iran were taking place mostly on social media. Tehran rejected many of Trump’s claims, such as Iran’s enriched uranium would be removed, the Strait of Hormuz would be jointly destroyed and never closed again, nuclear enrichment would be suspended indefinitely, Iran would stop supporting its foreign proxies, and no money would be exchanged. Iran hit back, saying, “The US President made 7 claims in an hour, all 7 of which are false.” “With these lies, they won’t win the war and certainly won’t achieve anything in negotiations.” According to the London-based Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), Iran’s diplomats around the world also joined the meme war, resorting to “shitposting” and “clapback” with sharp, combative and often sarcastic responses.Following Trump’s profanity-laced threat to Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian Embassy in Zimbabwe jokingly commented “We have lost the keys” in a post that received 6.9 million views and more than 93,000 likes. Other embassy accounts quickly chimed in to further the joke. The embassy in South Africa commented, “Shh…the key is under the pot. Just open to friends.” “Open to friends,” the embassy in Bulgaria said. Epstein’s friends want the keys.”According to the ISD, in the first 50 days of the war, posts from the Iranian embassy and official accounts were collectively viewed nearly 900 million times and received 22 million likes – a 30-fold increase in likes compared to the previous 50 days. But a stunned Trump, who boasts “I’m winning a lot of wars,” accused “fake news” like “the failing New York Times, the absolutely horrible and disgusting Wall Street Journal” of supporting “Iran to win, but that’s not going to happen, because I’m in charge!”And as the Trump administration took the first steps toward returning more than $166 billion collected from tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court, Trump encouraged companies not to seek tariff refunds.“If they don’t do that that’s fantastic. If they don’t do that, I’ll remember them,” Trump told CNBC before criticizing the Republican justices for “not staying together” and giving “the Democrats victory after victory.”His “completely ridiculous” tariff decision is being called “a travesty!” He called it “an unnecessary and costly slap in the face to the United States and a major victory for its adversaries.”Meanwhile, the Pentagon released details on its record $1.5 trillion budget request, showing that tens of billions of dollars will be spent on Trump’s “Golden Fleet” warship project, the “Golden Dome” missile defense program and other Trump military priorities.Despite judicial hurdles, Trump has remained obsessed with talking about his pet $400 million ballroom project so far this year, according to a Washington Post analysis. And as Trump’s disapproval reached the highest level of his second term, Trump revealed plans to release “interesting” documents related to UFOs “very, very soon,” according to a New York Times polling average.“We found a lot of very interesting documents, I must say, and the first releases will be going out very soon so you can go out and see if that phenomenon is true,” he said at an event in Phoenix.Trump did not disclose what was found in a review of the government’s UFO files in February, when he accused former President Barack Obama of improperly sharing classified information after Obama called aliens “real” in a podcast interview. – Maybe a new site to deport aliens, as Uncle Sam calls foreigners – or just bomb!(by arrangement with US market)

Controversy erupts after Democrat billionaire says ‘higher taxes are not the solution’ as California tackles inequality

Controversy erupts after Democrat billionaire says 'higher taxes are not the solution' as California tackles inequality

A viral moment from a California gubernatorial debate has put billionaire Democrat Tom Steyer under renewed scrutiny after he appeared to reject the idea that he should personally pay more taxes to tackle inequality. The exchange occurred Wednesday in San Francisco, where Steyer clashed with Republican Steve Hilton. Hilton claimed on stage that Steyer pays the lowest tax rate of “anyone at this level”.“My wife and I have said that we will give away the bulk of our money while we’re alive,” Steyer said at Wednesday night’s debate. He added, “But me paying more taxes is not the solution.”“If one person puts more money into government it’s not going to be solved, we need structural change,” Steyer said in the exchange. The comments went viral and were seized upon by opponents, prompting an attack ad from the California Is Not for Sale Committee. The group accused Steyer of hypocrisy, linked him to businesses linked to Donald Trump as well as past investments in companies linked to coal and private prisons, and suggested he had used offshore structures.Steyer spokesman Danny Wang rejected the claims, saying: “Despite these misguided efforts, Tom’s position has remained steadfast on taxing billionaires like himself, and he is the only candidate in the race calling for billionaires to pay more.”Steyer is estimated to be worth approximately $2.4 billion and is running on a progressive platform that includes higher taxes on corporations and a proposed 5% levy on the net worth of California billionaires. He has also called for the abolition of ICE.However, questions over continuity have haunted him before. Earlier this month, Steyer apologized after criticism surfaced over past investments by his hedge fund Farallon Capital Management in CoreCivic, a company that operates immigration detention centers in California. Farallon’s stake in the firm was once valued at $89.1 million.
