Maruti Suzuki today posted sales results for April 2026, the brand’s best April ever. In the month of April 2026, the carmaker sold 2,39,646 units as total domestic sales also reached a new peak of 1,91,122 units during the month. This strong growth was driven by new launches like the Victorious as well as strong performers like the Dezire and Baleno.
Apart from total sales, Maruti Suzuki’s SUV sales also reached an all-time high of over 50,000 units in April’26. While the newly launched ICOTY (Indian Car of the Year) winning Victoris brought in new customers, models like Grand Vitara and Brezza continued to perform strongly.
More than 1,200 homes in Plymouth have been evacuated after a World War II bomb was found at a construction site, with officials preparing to carry out a controlled explosion.A 400-metre exclusion zone has been set up around the site in the Southway area, where a 250 kg German SC250 bomb was found, the BBC reports. Officials said the device could not be safely moved due to concerns over fuses.Colonel Nick Handy, the senior explosives officer who led the operation, said that despite X-ray efforts one of the bomb’s fuses could not be properly assessed.“The simple reason is that the fuse is the thing that makes it explode,” he told reporters.He said the lack of clear readings meant it was too dangerous to move the device.“Unfortunately we could not get a definitive X-ray of the second fuse and therefore it is not safe to move that item,” he said. “Then we’ll blow it up in place.”Teams have been working through the night to build a protective structure using large amounts of sand to minimize the impact of the explosion.Colonel Handy said, “We will do our best to destroy the object and burn it inside a structure, thereby limiting the damage to the local environment.” He said efforts are focused on reducing the blast and debris.Residents within the cordon have been asked to leave their homes, and officials have warned that no one should return until the operation is completed.The Southway Youth and Community Center has been opened to accommodate evacuees, while Plymouth City Council is arranging hotel accommodation for those unable to find alternative shelter.Devon and Cornwall Police said there are currently no plans to expand the exclusion zone, but noted that the situation is subject to change depending on safety assessments.
New Delhi: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal alleged on Friday Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Maan Arriving in the Legislative Assembly “intoxicated”.In a social media post on Twitter, Maliwal shared a clip of Mann addressing the assembly and said that Mann should undergo an “alcohol test” and be removed from the post of chief minister if found guilty.

तेलंगाना की राजधानी हैदराबाद से एक बेहद दर्दनाक मामला सामने आया है, जहां एक सॉफ्टवेयर इंजीनियर ने अपनी पत्नी के कथित धोखे के कारण आत्महत्या कर ली. 36 वर्षीय सीताराम ने हुसैन सागर झील में कूदकर आत्महत्या कर ली। मरने से पहले उन्होंने 19 पेज का सुसाइड नोट लिखा, जिसमें उन्होंने अपनी पत्नी और उसके कथित अफेयर्स का जिक्र किया. इस घटना ने लोगों को झकझोर कर रख दिया है और रिश्तों में भरोसे की अहमियत पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं.
शादी के बाद विवाद शुरू हो गया
जानकारी के मुताबिक, सीताराम की शादी साल 2018 में रेणुका से हुई थी. दोनों नौकरी करते थे और हैदराबाद में साथ रह रहे थे. लेकिन कुछ समय बाद सीताराम को पता चला कि उसकी पत्नी के दूसरे मर्दों से भी संबंध हैं. इस बात को लेकर पति-पत्नी के बीच काफी समय से विवाद चल रहा था. सुसाइड नोट में सीताराम ने आरोप लगाया कि उसकी पत्नी पिछले डेढ़ साल से तीन अलग-अलग पुरुषों के संपर्क में थी।
सोशल मीडिया पर वीडियो देखकर टूटा भरोसा!
सीताराम ने अपने नोट में लिखा कि उन्हें सोशल मीडिया पर अपनी पत्नी के निजी वीडियो मिले, जिन्हें देखकर वह पूरी तरह टूट गए। उन्होंने कहा कि पत्नी ने अपने एक परिचित रमना रेड्डी के साथ निजी वीडियो बनाए, जिन्हें बाद में सोशल मीडिया पर पोस्ट कर दिया गया। बकौल सीताराम, वह इस सच्चाई को सहन नहीं कर सके और मानसिक रूप से टूट गए।
पुलिस ने शुरू की जांच, तीन लोग हिरासत में
मामले की जानकारी मिलते ही पुलिस ने कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी. जिन लोगों के नाम सुसाइड नोट में थे, उनके खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है. पुलिस ने पत्नी रेणुका और रमना रेड्डी समेत तीन लोगों को हिरासत में लिया है. अधिकारियों का कहना है कि सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट, मोबाइल कॉल रिकॉर्ड और अन्य डिजिटल सबूतों की जांच की जा रही है।
आत्महत्या के लिए उकसाने का मामला दर्ज
पुलिस के मुताबिक यह मामला आत्महत्या के लिए उकसाने के तहत दर्ज किया गया है. सुसाइड नोट में श्रवण समेत अन्य लोगों का भी जिक्र है. जांच एजेंसियां यह भी पता लगाने की कोशिश कर रही हैं कि क्या मृतक को वीडियो के जरिए ब्लैकमेल किया जा रहा था. फिलहाल मामले की जांच जारी है.

A 476,000-year-old wooden structure was found at Kalambo Falls, Zambia. This discovery has significantly changed our view of early hominin intelligence. Researchers at Aberystwyth University and the University of Liverpool discovered these logs, fitted together, which are the oldest known examples of wood used in building. Remarkably, this structure existed 200,000 years before Homo sapiens appeared. The waterlogged soil preserved the artifacts, demonstrating advanced carpentry skills such as using stone tools to join wooden pieces. These findings indicate that Pleistocene ancestors were not just wandering foragers; They had the mental capacity to change their environment for permanent living space. This revelation changes the way we think about our ancestors’ technological progress and history.
A study in the journal Nature Turns out the wooden structure is made of two logs that fit together with a specially designed notch. This suggests that early hominins, such as Homo heidelbergensis, had the cognitive ability to form a mental model and an abstract design. This challenges the long-held belief that wood was only used to make simple tools such as digging sticks in the Middle Pleistocene.
Scientists wanted to find out how old the find was, so they used a technique called luminescence dating on the sand around it, reported at Aberystwyth University. This way, they could see when the minerals had last seen sunlight. They found that the wood was approximately 476,000 years old. This is much older than any previously known wooden structure, compared to previous records of wooden structures dating back 9,000 to 11,000 years.
Artifacts show that our ancestors used stone tools to shape objects. Researchers at the University of Liverpool found evidence that they prepared pieces of wood to fit together, much in the same way as modern joiners work. The discovery changes the archaeological approach from focusing primarily on stone tools to recognizing a significant ‘Wooden Age’. This implies that species that preceded Homo sapiens had advanced cognitive and physical skills.
The well-preserved condition of these wooden artefacts is due to the special waterlogged environment of the Kalambo Falls. Because oxygen could not reach them, the wood survived for about 500,000 years. Located near a high waterfall on the Zambia-Tanzania border, the site holds a comprehensive record of human history from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.

मुजफ्फरनगर थाना कोतवाली नगर पुलिस ने नाबालिग से दुष्कर्म और जान से मारने की धमकी देने के गंभीर आरोप में वांछित दो आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। मामले की संवेदनशीलता को देखते हुए पुलिस द्वारा की गई त्वरित कार्रवाई को एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम माना जा रहा है.
पुलिस अधिकारियों के मुताबिक आरोपी के खिलाफ संबंधित धाराओं के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है और आगे की कानूनी प्रक्रिया चल रही है.
शिकायत मिलने के बाद गंभीर धाराओं में मामला दर्ज किया गया
जनपद शामली के थाना कोतवाली नगर क्षेत्र निवासी सरवर पीर ने पुलिस को लिखित शिकायत दी कि उसकी नाबालिग भतीजी के साथ अलग-अलग स्थानों पर जबरन दुष्कर्म किया गया और विरोध करने पर जान से मारने की धमकी दी गई।
शिकायत के आधार पर पुलिस ने भारतीय न्याय संहिता और पॉक्सो एक्ट की धाराओं के तहत मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है.
दोनों आरोपियों की पहचान आसिफ और फरमान के रूप में हुई।
मामले में वांछित आरोपियों की पहचान आसिफ पुत्र नौशाद निवासी मोहल्ला किदवई नगर थाना खालापार और फरमान पुत्र इरशाद निवासी मोहल्ला न्याजूपुरा थाना कोतवाली नगर के रूप में हुई है।
दोनों आरोपियों के खिलाफ गंभीर अभियोग दर्ज होने के बाद उनकी गिरफ्तारी के लिए पुलिस टीमें सक्रिय कर दी गईं।
मुखबिर की सूचना पर काली नदी पुल के पास से गिरफ्तार किया गया
मुखबिर से मिली सूचना के आधार पर पुलिस ने दोनों आरोपियों की लोकेशन ट्रेस की. इसके बाद कोतवाली नगर थाना पुलिस ने काली नदी पुल के पास घेराबंदी कर दोनों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया.
गिरफ्तारी के बाद आरोपियों से पूछताछ की जा रही है और आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई की जा रही है.

यह कार्रवाई अपर पुलिस महानिदेशक, मेरठ जोन एवं पुलिस उप महानिरीक्षक, सहारनपुर जोन के निर्देशन में वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक द्वारा की गयी। संजय कुमार वर्मा की देखरेख में किया गया।
अभियान में नगर पुलिस अधीक्षक मो अमृत जैनसहायक पुलिस अधीक्षक, शहर सिद्धार्थ के. मिश्रा एवं प्रभारी निरीक्षक ब्रिजेश कुमार शर्मा के नेतृत्व में टीम सक्रिय रही।
गिरफ्तारी अभियान में जुटी पुलिस टीम
आरोपी की गिरफ्तारी में उपनिरीक्षक विक्रांत कुमार, कांस्टेबल प्रिंस कुमार, वेदराम, आरामदीप और महिला कांस्टेबल बेबी ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
पुलिस अधिकारियों ने बताया कि मामले की प्राथमिकता के आधार पर जांच की जा रही है और पीड़ित पक्ष को न्याय दिलाने के लिए आवश्यक कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित की जा रही है.
कोतवाली नगर क्षेत्र में नाबालिग से दुष्कर्म और धमकी देने के मामले में दो आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी को पुलिस की त्वरित कार्रवाई के रूप में देखा जा रहा है, जिससे गंभीर अपराधों के प्रति सख्त रुख का संकेत मिला है और पीड़िता को न्याय दिलाने की प्रक्रिया को आगे बढ़ाया गया है.
