Jergensen and Ghosh asked Laurentian to invest $2.5 million as seed money for the project. He and Laurentian agreed that the money would remain in a Wells Fargo account and could not be transferred without Laurentian’s permission.Jurgensen and Ghosh misused $2.4 million of excess funds that other businesses had entrusted to them. Laurentian, using money contributed by its board members and an outside investor, paid $2.5 million into a Wells Fargo account in December 2010. Five days later, Jergensen and Ghosh began transferring money from the account without Laurentian’s permission, and by March 2011 they had transferred the entire $2.5 million from the account.Jergensen and Ghosh used $2.5 million of Laurentian’s money to pay Verdant’s expenses and pay others, including employees and contractors. मुजफ्फरनगर पुलिस ने अवैध नशे के कारोबार के खिलाफ बड़ा अभियान चलाते हुए पांच नशा तस्करों को गिरफ्तार किया है. थाना कोतवाली नगर पुलिस ने “ऑपरेशन सवेरा” अभियान के तहत कार्रवाई करते हुए आरोपियों के कब्जे से करीब 12 किलो 998 ग्राम अवैध मादक पदार्थ बरामद किया है, जिसकी अनुमानित कीमत करीब 6.5 लाख रुपये बताई जा रही है.

बरामद मादक पदार्थों में 9 किलो 846 ग्राम डोडा पोस्त और 3 किलो 152 ग्राम गांजा शामिल है. पुलिस का कहना है कि जिले में नशे के नेटवर्क को तोड़ने में यह कार्रवाई बड़ी सफलता मानी जा रही है.

‘ऑपरेशन सवेरा’ के जरिए नशे के खिलाफ चल रहा बड़ा अभियान

सहारनपुर परिक्षेत्र के पुलिस उप महानिरीक्षक द्वारा पूरे क्षेत्र में “ऑपरेशन सवेरा” अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। इस अभियान का उद्देश्य मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी, प्रतिबंधित दवाओं की बिक्री और अवैध नशीली दवाओं के व्यापार को प्रभावी ढंग से रोकना है।

नशे के अंधेरे से जीवन के उजाले की ओर थीम पर चल रहे इस अभियान के तहत सहारनपुर रेंज के तीनों जिलों में लगातार छापेमारी और गिरफ्तारियां की जा रही हैं.

मुजफ्फरनगर में इस अभियान की शुरूआत वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक ने की संजय कुमार वर्मा की देखरेख में चलाया जा रहा है। इस कार्यवाही में पुलिस अधीक्षक नगर अमृत ​​जैनसहायक पुलिस अधीक्षक/क्षेत्राधिकारी नगर सिद्धार्थ मिश्रा एवं थाना प्रभारी कोतवाली नगर ब्रिजेश कुमार शर्मा की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही।

उसके कब्जे से 1 किलो 100 ग्राम गांजा बरामद हुआ. आरोपी के खिलाफ एनडीपीएस एक्ट की धारा 8/20 के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है.

पुलिस सूत्रों का कहना है कि आरोपी लंबे समय से इलाके में अवैध गांजा सप्लाई के नेटवर्क से जुड़ा था और उसके संपर्कों की भी जांच की जा रही है.

रेलवे लाइन के पास से दो आरोपी पकड़े, भारी मात्रा में डोडा पोस्त बरामद

कार्रवाई के दौरान पुलिस ने गांव पीनना निवासी वंश उर्फ ​​वड्डू और विशाल को भी गिरफ्तार कर लिया। दोनों आरोपियों को बुढ़ाना-शाहपुर रोड पर रेलवे लाइन के किनारे सड़क से पकड़ा गया।

एक अन्य कार्रवाई में पुलिस ने खतौली क्षेत्र निवासी असलम पुत्र नईमुद्दीन को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। आरोपी को चरथावल-नियाजूपुरा रोड पर शनिदेव मंदिर के पीछे से पकड़ा गया।

पुलिस ने उसके कब्जे से 1 किलो 250 ग्राम अवैध गांजा और घटना में प्रयुक्त मोटरसाइकिल भी बरामद की है. आरोपी के खिलाफ एनडीपीएस एक्ट की धारा 8/20 के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है.

अधिकारियों के मुताबिक आरोपी बाइक के जरिए अलग-अलग इलाकों में गांजा सप्लाई करते थे. पुलिस उसके मोबाइल रिकॉर्ड और संपर्कों की जांच कर रही है।

हाईवे किनारे से गांजा तस्कर भी पकड़ा गया

कोतवाली नगर थाना पुलिस ने सुनील कुमार पुत्र ब्रहम सिंह निवासी मेरठ को भी गिरफ्तार कर लिया। आरोपी को सलेमपुर-लकड़संधा दधेडू हाईवे के पास से पकड़ा गया।

उसके कब्जे से 802 ग्राम अवैध गांजा बरामद हुआ। पुलिस का कहना है कि आरोपी हाईवे के रास्ते से ड्रग्स सप्लाई करने की योजना बना रहा था.

जानकारों का मानना ​​है कि हाईवे और रेलवे रूट के जरिए छोटे-छोटे नेटवर्क के जरिए नशे की तस्करी तेजी से बढ़ रही है, जिसे रोकने के लिए पुलिस लगातार निगरानी बढ़ा रही है.

उप कृषि निदेशक सत्येन्द्र कुमार ने बताया कि यह योजना विशेष रूप से बेरोजगार कृषि स्नातकों के लिए शुरू की गई है। इसके तहत कृषि और संबद्ध विषयों जैसे बागवानी, पशुपालन, डेयरी उत्पादन, वानिकी, पशु चिकित्सा, मुर्गीपालन और कृषि व्यवसाय प्रबंधन में डिग्री रखने वाले युवाओं को लाभ दिया जाएगा। आवेदन करने वाला अभ्यर्थी उत्तर प्रदेश के अमेठी जिले का निवासी होना चाहिए। उन्होंने बताया कि अभ्यर्थी की आयु 40 वर्ष से अधिक नहीं होनी चाहिए. हालांकि, अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति और महिला उम्मीदवारों को अधिकतम पांच साल की छूट दी जाएगी। डिग्री किसी मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय से होनी चाहिए जो आईसीएआर या यूजीसी द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त हो।

ऑनलाइन आवेदन प्रक्रिया शुरू
कृषि विभाग ने बताया कि आवेदन पूरी तरह से ऑनलाइन किये जायेंगे. इच्छुक उम्मीदवार कृषि विभाग की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट या एग्रीजंक्शन पोर्टल पर जाकर आवेदन कर सकते हैं। आवेदन की आखिरी तारीख 30 मई 2026 तय की गई है। विभाग ने साफ कर दिया है कि आवेदन करने के लिए कोई शुल्क नहीं लिया जाएगा। चयन प्रक्रिया जिलाधिकारी अथवा मुख्य विकास अधिकारी की अध्यक्षता में गठित समिति द्वारा पूर्ण की जायेगी। चयनित युवाओं को कृषि सेवा केंद्र स्थापित करने का अवसर मिलेगा, जिसके माध्यम से वे किसानों को खाद, बीज, दवाएँ और तकनीकी सलाह प्रदान कर सकेंगे।

किसानों और युवाओं दोनों को लाभ मिलेगा
कृषि विभाग का मानना ​​है कि इस योजना से एक ओर जहां युवाओं को स्वरोजगार मिलेगा वहीं दूसरी ओर किसानों को ग्रामीण स्तर पर बेहतर कृषि सेवाएं मिलेंगी. विभाग ने इच्छुक अभ्यर्थियों से समय पर आवेदन करने की अपील की है. साथ ही योजना से संबंधित विस्तृत जानकारी के लिए उप कृषि निदेशक कार्यालय से संपर्क करने को कहा गया है.
