टिहरी: तूफान के कारण फंसे 30 लोग, एसडीआरएफ ने सुरक्षित निकाला, संवेदनशील इलाकों में निगरानी बढ़ाने के निर्देश
आपदा नियंत्रण कक्ष टिहरी गढ़वाल से सूचना मिली कि डोबरा-चाटी के पास आए तेज तूफान के कारण झील में बनी फ्लोटिंग झोपड़ियां टूट गई हैं और इस घटना में कई लोगों के फंसे होने की आशंका है। सूचना मिलते ही एसडीआरएफ पोस्ट कोटी कॉलोनी से सब इंस्पेक्टर नरेंद्र राणा के नेतृत्व में बचाव दल आवश्यक उपकरणों के साथ तुरंत मौके के लिए रवाना हो गया।
मौके पर पहुंचने पर टीम ने पाया कि तेज तूफान के कारण तैरती झोपड़ियां क्षतिग्रस्त होकर बह गई हैं। एसडीआरएफ की टीम ने बिना देर किए रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन शुरू किया और करीब 25 से 30 लोगों को सुरक्षित बचा लिया. सभी लोगों को पर्यटन विभाग की नाव की मदद से कोटी कॉलोनी पहुंचाया गया।

मौसम विभाग ने 4 और 5 मई को देहरादून, टिहरी, हरिद्वार, पौडी, नैनीताल, चंपावत और उधम सिंह नगर जिलों में ऑरेंज अलर्ट जारी किया है। इसे देखते हुए राज्य आपातकालीन परिचालन केंद्र ने जिलों को आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश जारी किए हैं। सचिव आपदा प्रबंधन विनोद कुमार सुमन ने कहा कि जिलों को उच्च सतर्कता बरतने और किसी भी आपदा की स्थिति में त्वरित कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करने का निर्देश दिया गया है.
पहाड़ी इलाकों में ट्रैकिंग गतिविधियों को नियंत्रित करने, संवेदनशील इलाकों में निगरानी बढ़ाने और राहत एवं बचाव टीमों को अलर्ट मोड पर रखने को कहा गया है. सभी संबंधित विभागों जैसे राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग, लोक निर्माण विभाग, पीएमजीएसवाई, बीआरओ आदि को सड़क अवरुद्ध होने की स्थिति में तत्काल बहाली सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। साथ ही ग्रामीण स्तर तक के अधिकारियों को अपने क्षेत्रों में सक्रिय रहने और आपदा उपकरण व संसाधन तैयार हालत में रखने को कहा गया है. स्कूलों में छात्रों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने को भी कहा गया है.

It had disposed of the applications related to environment clearance (EC) for the project, directing officials to “ensure full and strict compliance with the EC conditions”.Reacting to the opposition to the project, ACM Bhadauria (Retd) said, “It is important to understand it from a strategic perspective, especially in the light of recent events, such as the ongoing conflict (in West Asia) and developments in the Strait of Hormuz.”Strategically, it is important to understand that this project will give us the ability to be located only 150 km from the Strait of Malacca. Our overall domain awareness in both air and maritime domains will get a significant boost.Citing the example of the Gulf crisis, Major General (retd) GS Rawat recently said, “We need to look at this (project) from an operational and strategic perspective, including its geographical alignment and maritime position. Recent global developments have shown how strategic choke points can be exploited, as seen around the Strait of Hormuz.Similarly, the Strait of Malacca assumes even greater importance in the context of global trade and maritime movement… From an operational perspective, control or strong presence along such routes enhances strategic advantage, surveillance capabilities and maritime security. This is where the importance of the Great Nicobar Project lies, as it strengthens India’s position in monitoring and responding to the development of these vital sea routes.“Air Vice Marshal PK Srivastava (Retd) said, “Whenever the Government of India undertakes a project, it consults a wide range of expert advisors from different fields. Every project is prepared after taking opinion from experts and conducting proper ground survey of the area. Such projects are not prepared sitting in Delhi alone – teams go to the site and assess all aspects.“Any potential concerns or issues related to the Great Nicobar Island Project would have already been carefully considered during the planning process.”Describing the project as a major strategic and economic win for the country, Major General Sinha (retd) said, “In the maritime sector, the Great Nicobar Project has created a stir in the country. Some people do not want the country to emerge in the world.”Cautioning about China’s moves, former Border Roads Organization director general Lieutenant General (retd) Rajeev Chaudhary said, “If the project is delayed due to protests – especially through international pressure citing environmental concerns – then it may benefit China. Beijing is wary of such a project on Great Nicobar Island as it would increase India’s surveillance of maritime trade and military activities in the area...China’s ‘String of Pearls’ strategy – through ports such as Gwadar Port, Hambantota Port and Kyaukpyu Port – will be countered by a strong strategic and economic hub in Campbell Bay and Galathea Bay…Such opposition or negative narratives may inadvertently align with Chinese interests. This is a necessary project which ideally should have been implemented much earlier.”
The CBI said Parekh was wanted in a banking and financial fraud case worth Rs 2,672 crore. A case was registered by the CBI in Kolkata in 2016 on charges of defrauding a consortium of 25 banks.“The accused, in conspiracy with other promoters and directors, facilitated the diversion of bank funds through a network of overseas entities and business activities, including in the UAE, while actively managing the export-related operations and financial transactions of the company and its associated entities abroad by using fraudulent practices such as manipulation of financial transactions and misuse of banking channels.”Based on the Interpol Red Notice, the accused was based in UAE. At India’s request, the subject was detained by UAE authorities. After appropriate legal proceedings and close coordination between Indian and UAE authorities, it was decided to hand over the matter to Indian authorities. The man reached Delhi on May 1 and was taken into custody in Kolkata.In the second case, accused Kumar was wanted in connection with a case registered by Haryana Police for crimes including cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy and use of forged documents to fraudulently obtain a passport.“The accused was the key conspirator of a well-organized racket involved in obtaining Indian passports on the basis of forged documents and false information. The accused had allegedly helped several persons with criminal background in obtaining passports by using fake identities and addresses,” the CBI said.The accused also played an important role in coordinating illegal activities and managing the immigration of such persons. On the request of Haryana Police, CBI got a red notice published against the subject through Interpol channels.Subsequently, the subject’s geo-location was traced and he was arrested by UAE authorities. Subsequently, an extradition request was submitted to the UAE authorities. He reached Mumbai on May 1 where he was taken into custody by Haryana Police.
